Mark Schlereth on Mike & Mike this morning discussing the advantage of crowd noise at NFL Stadiums:
"In Denver...we always talked about Denver having the greatest fans in the world. That's the loudest stadium, Kansas City, that I've ever played in. It was ridiculous:"

F yes
Arrowhead was seriously rockin on monday night, i personally saw 3 seat backs get broken by people banging on them.
It was the loudest I remember, I don’t know if its cause it has been so long since Arrowhead has been like that or it cause it actually was the loudest i have ever heard it. Either way, Rivers was pissed so i’m happy.
Arrowhead patrons should be proud we caused like 3 different penalties. If the rain hadn’t forced some away that goal line stand would have been even more ridiculous!!!
I checked stubhub today and ALL the ticket prices jumped up. I bet Clark is pretty happy on a football AND business side.
"A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week."
I agree
I always try to go to 1-2 games a year and that opening drive for San Diego was the loudest I ever remember Arrowhead. When they had their first delay of game that place was crazy. Heck, even late in the game when a bunch of people had either left or hid under the stands due to the weather it was still rockin.
Insert witty yet thought provoking phrase here.
Seat breaker
I personally broke 2 seats in the upper deck by banging on them…whoops. It was worth it though; that place was freakin rockin
Decimal Meter
Can Arrowhead put a Decimal Meter on the jumbotron? That would be nice to see, but I’m not sure if NFL would allow.
They do that at the Thomas & Mack Center...
for UNLV Runnin’ Rebels home games. It inspires the crowd to get even louder, so I love it.
It's a decibal meter

I unfortunately was out of town and couldn't go to the game.
But I watched it on ESPN. You could hear people beating on the seats over the t.v.
Someone needs to ask Eric Berry his opinion....
Mostly because he spent 3 years at Tennessee – which has one of the largest stadiums in the NCAA (seats 102,037 and routinely sells out). I went to the home opener many years ago (‘02 I think) and that place was just berserker nuts and stupid loud. I still don’t think it was as loud as a divisional game at Arrowhead.
I want to hear him talk about how loud Arrowhead was compared to some of the big SEC games he played in. I bet our 60-70k was louder than Neyland at 100k+.
Dexter McCluster was asked that question
And he said Arrowhead was by far louder than any SEC stadium he had ever been in. I believe his exact words were “not even close.”
Yeah, I read that... but
Mississippi hasn’t played at Neyland stadium since 2005 – before McCluster was on the team.
I can’t throw Ole Miss in the ring – their stadium isn’t big enough.
I want to know about a key rival for UT (Bama or Florida) – and how a home game compared. Trying to get as close to that MNF game as possible in potential fan and player intensity.

Point taken
I think the bowl configuration makes Arrowhead louder than other similar sized stadiums. Also, being the season opener, MNF, and all that went with “The Experience” took things up to another level.
How that compares to a big SEC rivalry game in a 100 seat stadium on a Saturday afternoon, I have no idea. But given the unique circumstances, I would tend to side with Arrowhead. It’s not just that it was loud, but it was sustained loudness throughout the game. That’s what impressed me the most. It was like everyone had been inhaling over the last 10 years or so, and then spent three hours exhaling.
Agreed
Plus, you have to figure at Neyland with 100k+ fans you’re going to have a lot of alumnus and old fogeys in the stands.
If the entire 100k plus was.. say… the student section – then it might be comparable.

Mark Schlereth
Is the biggest Chiefs hater in the business. Loud crowd noise is about the only positive thing he can say about the Chiefs. That’s probably why he feels the Chiefs won.
I disagree
During the Vermeil era, it seemed like he picked the Chiefs to go to the Super Bowl just about every year. And during the weekly picks, he was often the only one (or just about) to pick the Chiefs. He may not yet be a believer in this particular team, but that doesn’t make him a Chiefs hater.
in fact
he picked us this week against the browns which alot of people think we will lose this game.

Well, to me it seems.....
That every time I watch NFL Live, he’s bashing the Chiefs and saying how great the Raiders are. Not to mention, he picked the Chargers against us……
Most people picked the Chargers.
Did you see what they did to us last season? Just because someone picks the other side doesn’t make them a hater. Do you expect Schlereth to pick the Chiefs all 16 games this season, and if he doesn’t, he’s a Chiefs-hater? I don’t expect the Chiefs to go 16-0. Does that make me a Chiefs-hater?
I love hearing that kinda stuff. Really cool.
