I watched the early game before our game. And the similarities were striking. The Jets didn't get their first 3rd down conversion until late in the game. Sanchez threw for 70 yards on 10 or 11 completions. Their special teams were pretty good. They pinned Baltimore deep in their zone all game. They forced a turnover deep in Balt territory.
The only difference was the Jets committed a lot of critical penalties at the wrong time. One play was 3rd and 28. On that play, their D got called for a 5 yard holding penalty. First down Baltimore. In total, I think they committed 12 penalties for 100+ yards.
In the end, the Jets could have gone down the field for a game winning FG. But because Sanchez didn't have much success throughout the game, he couldn't muster up enough to bring his team down the field.
The local media here in NJ is killing Sanchez, and Brian Shottenheimer (OC).
Not saying we're better than the Jets, but those little things won this game for us.
