Good morning Kansas City Chiefs fans! How bout dem Chiefs???

Kansas City did want none of the National Media said they could do...beat the Chargers and we didn't in a way that we as fans haven't seen in a LONG time....WITH DEFENSE!


So after a 12 hour shift I come home, and as I do every day, then turned on Mike and Mike in the Morning to see the highlights from the game. The problem is they are not showing the highlights.

After the jump I will break down what I did see and hear....

As stated before "The Jump" I came home from work after a LONG shift and turn on Mike and Mike in the Morning around 07:10 CST looking for highlights from last nights win, but its just not getting air time.

What I DID see / hear...

...I heard about Mark Sanchez not trying to throw the ball down the field.

...I heard about the Jets racking up 135 yards in penalties.

...I heard about the Jets only getting 6 first downs.

... I saw the Ravens / Jets hightlights shown over, and over, and over again and while there was some nice defensive plays in that game, it was NOT what I would call an exciting game.

...I have seen and heard EVEN MORE about the Ravens beating down a Jets team that backed their way into the playoffs (Lets face it...Indy laid down for them) last year for the first time in the last 3 years. Very boring!

...I heard Mike and Mike spent more time talking about who has more 200K season then Tim Lincecum then they spent on the Chargers / Chiefs game.

...I heard more about P90X then I did about a NFL Monday Night Football game. REALLY?

I know, I know, Greeny is a Jets fan and to be honest I am feel a little sorry for him. I know what it is like when your favorite team sucks. The Jets are one of the few teams that has gone longer (1968) without a Super Bowl win then our Chiefs (1969).

I know the National Media has an East Coast bias and normally I would say this is bad reporting but the fact is this was nearly non-existent reporting. (Golic did read the most BASIC stats from the game off a sheet of paper)

However, after over 2 years of watching Mike and Mike in the Morning I'm done. I'm boycotting Mike and Mike in the Morning from this point on and will personally will never watch (or listen to for that matter) the show ever again. When you give more hype to Stamps.com then a MNF Game you need to get out of sports reporting PERIOD.

So what SHOULD the media be talking about from the first week in the NFL Season???

...The Houston Texans win over the Indianapolis Colts.
...The Washington Redskins win over the Dallas Cowboys.
...and of course the Kansas City Chiefs win over the San Diego Chargers.

What do they all have in common???

...all three are divisional games.
...all three are HUGE "upsets"
...they ALL were more exciting then the Ravens /Jets game.
