Chiefs vs. Chargers: Running Game In The Spotlight
Think back to last year at this time.
Larry Johnson had "turned over a new leaf" and some thought he would make a return to the player he one was despite our healthy skepticism. Jamaal Charles was a nobody. Kolby Smith was on PUP. At the time we were thinking the Kansas City Chiefs were going to be a running team, despite the fact that the players at running back, and the offensive line, weren't really built to be a running team.
Fast forward a year and we're much, much more optimistic about the running game. The Chiefs haven't played a game that counts yet but already folks are calling the running game the strength of the team. For the first time in I don't know how long, the Chiefs running game is gaining national attention.
Tonight that's finally put on display.
Does Thomas Jones still have it, despite his age? Was Jamaal Charles' 2009 season a fluke or the real deal? Do the Chiefs have a third running back candidate in Jackie Battle? How will Dexter McCluster be used in the back field?
I'm sure those are the questions all of you have as well.
For one night at least, the Kansas City Chiefs running game will be put into focus.

Count me as one of the nimrods who was willing to give 2.7 one...last...chance.
I’m an optimist. Can’t help it.
My “last chance for LJ” ended in game one though. It was patently obvious, at least to me, that he didn’t want to be on this team. The way he would kind of lackadaisically run up Waters’ ass before quickly tipping over made me want to tear out the last few strands of my hair. Yes, the line was bad ya’ big baby. Don’t let the door hit ya.
Ironically, the willingness of Chiefs brass to let such a high-profile player go for nothing for no other reason than violation of team ethics made me very optimistic :)

PS! HELP!
Anybody know of a place that will for-sure be playing MNF tonight in or around Broken Arrow/Tulsa? I’d prefer a place that’s fairly quiet and that won’t mind me staying for the whole game without having to purchase a lot of booze. I’m not a drinker.
This is the first time I’ve regretted nixing the cable :/

Tip well
that will keep the server from complaining that you’re taking up a table too long and not ordering enough. Take care of her, and she’ll take care of you;)
Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery. Today is a gift, that's why it's called the present...
Hey, I joke around about drinking and what not, but I don't drink either.
Get you a Coke (size large) and some popcorn if they have it. No one will know what you are drinking and you can nurse the Coke for the entire evening or have two. Usually Cokes are not that terribly expensive. If they don’t have popcorn, get you some pickled eggs, or some jerky, or some chips and just enjoy yourself. I go to a bar here in my hometown all the time to play pool (yes I totally misspent my youth) and drink Cokes and eat popcorn. Just act like you own the place and have a good time.

Tonight we will see.
I think Weis will pull out all the stops to beat the Chargers. We may see some interesting stuff. Virtually nothing would surprise me.

2.7 had a big game yesterday...
3 carries for 9 yds. He's working on that average

A solid run game is critical
To a victory tonight. We have to keep Rivers off the field as much as possible
