Congratulations On 1,000 Catches, Tony Gonzalez
I'm sure Kansas City takes some pride in this one: Tony Gonzalez has caught the 1,000th pass of his career.
He ended the 2009 season with 999 catches and had been waiting for this moment.
916 of those 1,000 catches came in Kansas City while a member of the Chiefs.
Gonzalez currently sits in seventh place on the all-time catch list. Keep in mind this is for all players -- not just tight ends. No other tight end is in the same hemisphere as Gonzalez.
Ahead of him is Terrell Owens, Isaac Bruce, Tim Brown, Cris Carter, Marvin Harrison and Jerry Rice. He's now 102 receptions away from Harrison for second place.
A couple years down the road, it's very possible we can say Kansas City hosted the second best pass catcher in NFL history.

Just saw it on the Ticket
Awesome job TG! Congrats on the huge achievement, you will always be a Chief!!
My bold prediction for 2010....The Chiefs win the AFC west with a 9-7 record, while the Chargers fall off, Denver remains the same, and Oakland, well enough said.

He's a Falcon
why should i care what he does
You don't have to, but I do
because no matter what he’ll be viewed as a KC Chief in NFL history. Just like Montana and Rice are going to be remembered as 49ers, even thought they both finished their careers elsewhere.
Predictions:
This year will be better
Exactly.
Who is ever going to remember Favre as a Viking?
I appreciate everything TG gave while he was here, spending most of his incredible career in Red and Gold. Congrats to him.
Yea
He will be remembered as a Jet.

what? hasn't Favre always been a Viking?!?
I suppose you're gonna tell me used to be with some other team, like the Packers or whatever

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
Falcons lose
What if the Chiefs win. It would be funny if the Chiefs are in the playoffs this year and the Falcons are not. Tony would have been better off staying on this ship.
That would be something wouldn't it?

Crazy that a TE will likely finish his career 2nd alltime in receptions.
We were very lucky to be able to enjoy him as long as we did.

Worst mistake Pioli has made to date, including Cassel,
Was getting rid if Tony G – I know he wanted to go and all, but I’d bet he could have been persuaded…and god knows Cassel needs all the help he can get..

yeah...I disagree
he was great while he was here
but honestly, at this point ill take javier arenas at his young age over Tony G, who didnt want to play here beyond 1 year as it was. we got what we could and gave him a shot at a ring with a playoff team.
win win…I really think we would be in a way different situation…take arenas off that depth chart and our defense goes back to scaring me against anything..pass, run…wouldnt matter

I miss him wearing the Red & Gold to, but he didn't want to be here.....not much else to say

Alright
It’s your turn Mr. Moeaki!

Josh McDaniels fail.
Down 24-17. 4th and 3 with 4+ minutes left, kick the friggin field goal.
Whoever wins tomorrow will be first in the AFC West.

I’m a happy man. The Donkeys lose a close one to a mediocre team and Oakland gets straight up blown out by a good team.
Oakland looked terrible today. Dare I say it? Even worse than last year?

Period.
Congratulations TG! I’ll be there when you’re introduced into the Hall of Fame as a Kansas City Chief!
makes me sick
i’m not sure how i’ll feel when he’s inducted in the HOF, but right now, I’m just disgusted.
Not angry or bitter, not disappointed or sad – just disgusted.
How 'bout if he wanted to retire a Falcon...?
I’d kill him to!

Would've been better
had he gotten that catch tomorrow night on MNF in front of fans that actually would have appreciated it. I’m sure that’s the last thing he’s concerned with though, and rightly so.
PLEASE CLARIFY
Is he in SEVENTH place or SECOND place? Because ya said both.
Dear Haters, F@&Y% U!!! Love always, Kobe.
Okay, maybe you didn't say he was IN second place.
But maybe we should have the actually list and the numbers.

BOOOOOO!!!
I won’t be a TG fan until he retires or signs with the Chiefs again!!

Congrats TG Thank Dick Viermel. But don't give him a too big of a hug. He destroyed the Chiefs by letting them get old and could not field a defense that could stop your gramdma from scoring 30 pts a game. when you were at your peak..

Best pick Carl ever made in the draft
Congrats to Tony! My son still has your chief pic on the wall with Priest and Trent along with Dawson in the huddle. Too bad our D wasn’t
like the dominant one that Lenny played with or you would have had your bling ring already.
Let’s hope our retooled chiefs can rebound back to the days of old when a thunderous dunk through the goal posts was met with the equally thunderous explosion in the stands. 24 hours…24 hours… Arenas will fill the arena with Deja vu vanover hallish returns and the thunder will return. Your shoes will not be filled but the stands will and as you hear the roar while watching Monday in your new found home you will miss this place and we will always think fondly of you.

Wow.
I had thought that regardless of everything that had happened we would all stand aside as Chiefs nation and support everything that Tony has and will do. TG will always be a part of Chiefs nation in my heart. When I exit this world, I will exit with Tony, as a Chief, and always a Chief, in my heart. It depresses me that some do not. Regardless of the current “business” state of the NFL, Tony will have done the arrowhead proud to me.
