NFLPA decertification vote could ensure NFL football in 2011
"Put simply, if the NFLPA decertifies, the league would then be required to promulgate player acquisition and retention rules on an across-the-board basis. The union then would sue the league, arguing that the imposition of standard rules regarding player acquisition and retention among 32 different businesses constitutes a violation of antitrust laws."
In 1987, the NFLPA did this and Reggie White threatened a class action lawsuit against the league. Eventually this led to the previous collective bargaining agreement with free agency and the salary cap.

screw the players. they get paid like rich men by poor men to play a boy's game.
we watch teams. players are just 1/53 of a team. they’re replaceable.

I'm not really on the owners side either
Like I heard on Jim Rome the other day, People don’t want to hear Millionaires arguing with Billionaires about who should get more money.
How about it stays the same and costs go down for the fans?
I'd rather be a failure at something I love than a success at something I hate.

the billionaires are taking risk
they’re paying for stadium upkeep, all kinds of staff, game day workers (security, concessions, custodial), coaches, scouts, electricity, plumbing, marketing, practice facilities, maintenance workers, and the players….they’re spending a hell of a lot of money.
The owners have provided a job for the players.
I dare you to cry to your employer that he/she has given you a job.
It is fully selfish. How about the players stop asking for more money, and the common fan sees costs go down?
Players are replaceable. They have a job fully because of owners, not in spite of them.
