My Thought's On Monday Night And The Chiefs

FIRST OFF I FEEL AS IF THE CHIEFS ARE GOING TO WIN, BUT NOT ONLY THAT THEY WILL WIN BIG

Star-divide

MY REASONS FOR THINKING THIS:

1: The upgraded coaching staff. That's not the main part you have to look out side the box and just think like what game film do the other team have to try and get ready for us. Preseason maybe but who really shows everything in the preseason? What I am trying to say is it will be that much harder to game plan upon somebody you don't know anything about.

2: The WR's to me have been over looked this off-season and we have guys going in to this game with a chip on their shoulders. D-Bowe this is his do-or-die year and from the preseason he is ready to do he has been much improved this off-season. And there is that other guy you know who got cut by the Chargers Mr.Chambers. He will go and to this game so ready to send a message back to his old team. Him and Cassle looked good last year but just this off-season made them so much better.

3: The D. Now I know a lot of people feel like OMG this is the same D from last year, well I don't. If you watched the pre-season you will see they move to the ball much better the raping up is not the best but it's improved and the main thing are D-line is opening holes for the LB's to run and thru (D.Williams sacks). I mean Tyson had a hole so big anybody could have to got the QB. I mean that's what we was not seeing last year for the line. And we really don't have to start talking about the guys in the back there is no more Mike Brown there is not E-Berry he moves to the ball very fast and it makes everything look fast I love it

4: This is not just a team this is a family when player went down everybody was around as a family wishing the best for their brother. I mean really this is so good for a team to have a brother hood bound. That mean's they will be able to push each other and want have a problem helping each other out. This is really a good team you have guys that's on thin ice as far as losing there starting job helping there brother still and willing to lose that job to make his family better (McGraw) might be spilled wrong. But this is the main thing to me you have to have a bound.

And on Monday night everybody will see the Chiefs are not the same team you are just going to make as a win any more. You will not just have your way with us and we will not give up with out a fight to death. I feel many chargers play's and coaches feel as if they can start this season off good with a win I think they will get beat by 10+ points when they come to KC

Go easy man

AP is a place for everyone to say their piece. Let’s not discourage that.

...And as the roar of 80,000 red-clad great plains warriors fills the hallowed halls of Arrowhead, it will strike fear into the hearts of lesser men. For on that field, individual men toil for something greater than individual honors. They toil as brothers-in-arms, as 53 spirits striving towards a single purpose and driven by a single goal: The glory that comes with vanquishing your foes. They will achieve their birthright, they will be champions.

C'mon guys

One love…

We’re all here for one reason, we are passionate fans of the greatest sports team ever. We shouldn’t be going after eachother, we should be getting excited for a big game to open a hopefuly season. You both know that if you guys had seats next to eachother for the game, y’all would be high fiving eachother all game long and acting like lifelong buddies, so let’s keep that spirit here, too.

The Chiefs were number 2 in the league

in rushing during the preseason. That was without extensive game planning, efficient utilization of backs to win the game, grind it out ball possession drives to keep the opposing offense from having the ball, etc. I expect the Chiefs running game to explode on the Chargers with a vengeance on Monday Night. That is how we are going to have to win football games is by hammering other teams with our main strength which is our stable of outstanding running backs.

That will give our defense the impetus to rise to the occasion and play some mean and nasty football. You can see it in the players. They are beginning to realize they can not only play with the big boys, but dominate them as well. Defense and running the football are going to be our bread and butter this season. If not, you will eat my hat.

I think we'll open up with a win too, but 10 points is a bit optimistic for my tastes

San Diego is still a good team. They’re not as good as the media makes them out to be, and I think they’re defense especially is on the decline, but they’re still good.

I think the reasons you outlined above are big though. You’re absolutely right that they don’t have much to work with in terms of figuring out the coaching staff/playcalling. They can look at what Weis did in NE or ND, but it’s not gonna help too much because Weis is gonna use different calls that are catered to his current personnel. Same thing with Romeo. The WRs have looked better. Chambers will be out to prove something, but Bowe looked downright fast on the catch against GB. I’m excited to see what he can do. Bowe is physical enough where if we get him the ball on a slant, he can throw a CB off his back, and now he’s fast enough where he might be able to outrun the safety for six.

The defense is the thing I’m most excited for, because I think we’ve seen some flashes this preseason of something special coming together. I think Romeo has a lot of confidence in this secondary and is willing to bring pressure and leave those four guys back there to handle the receivers. This week will be a big test for our D, especially our rush D. Matthews has been hyped like the second coming of AP (you know, that much less football-relevant AP, Adrian Peterson). If we can hold him under 100 yards and force the Chargers into tird down passing situations, I think we can really turn some heads. Rivers is a good QB, but he has had a lot of his bad games against us. We need that on Monday. The one thing I haven’t seen yet from this defense is generating turnovers. I want to see us ballhawking, stripping, and scoring on D…. and I think we very well might see that.

That last part, I don’t think that can be emphasized enough. A lot of people are dismissive of intangibles like chemistry and say “look at the stats.” Well, most of the time, those teams and players end up putting up the stats because they trust the guys they’re playing with. I think we’re starting to see that. These guys are in this together. And they’re sick of losing. We’re putting together a roster with guys that are used to winning, that come from winning college football programs, and high school programs, and even other winning NFL teams. They see the guys around them here and they know that they all have that drive, that drive to win. And win they will.

...And as the roar of 80,000 red-clad great plains warriors fills the hallowed halls of Arrowhead, it will strike fear into the hearts of lesser men. For on that field, individual men toil for something greater than individual honors. They toil as brothers-in-arms, as 53 spirits striving towards a single purpose and driven by a single goal: The glory that comes with vanquishing your foes. True

Like Sudden says above we’re all on the same side here but……for a little constructive criticism here – keep in mind that the written word can’t portray things in the same way as the spoken. Things like spelling, grammar, punctuation, and paragraph breaks go a long way to helping the reader concentrate on your idea rather than your delivery.

That being said, good post man. I agree that we should look better for all those reasons, but I’m not entirely sure about a win, much less a big one. One step at at time. But keep up the optimism – I’m right there with ya although I keep mine in check after the heartbreak of the last several years.

The most important thing.....

on Monday night (IMO) is pressure. The defense has got to be in Philip Rivers face all the time. He has to be hurried, knocked down, and frustrated all night. If that happens, Chiefs win.
