Chiefs vs. Packers Preseason: Two Starters May Be Sitting
The Kansas City Chiefs may be missing two starters when they play the Green Bay Packers in the final preseason game on Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium.
Last week, the Chiefs were without starting right tackle Ryan O'Callaghan. He hasn't practiced since then so we can probably expect to see him on the sidelines Thursday. We're not sure what O'Callaghan's injury is or if it's serious.
The Chiefs may also be missing starting outside linebacker Tamba Hali. The Kansas City Star reports Hali had his "ankle heavily taped" while working out on Tuesday. Again, there's no specifics on his injury.
Chiefs coach Todd Haley has previously said that generally players need to practice to play. I imagine he'd be willing to break that rule in the regular season when the games count. In the preseason, though, there's no reason to push players who are hurting.
Also missing practice this week has been the usual suspects: Guard Darryl Harris, outside linebacker Cameron Sheffield and defensive back Maurice Leggett. We're not sure if any of those guys will play but it seems unlikely.
Chris Chambers also missed practice but Haley indicated that "we're in good shape" when asked about him.

Question about O'Call
has he been at practice on the bikes, or not seen on the field at all?
The picture is a Chiefs pumpkin, yeah that is right a Chiefs pumpkin.
I actually don't mind Hali sitting
I’d like to see more of what our other OLB’s can do as far as pass rush goes.
Get healthy! This game means nothing!
I love my wife, my kids, and the Chiefs. In that order. Except on game days.
agreed
we know what Hali can do, and why send him out there just to get put in the reverse piledriver neckbreaker stone cold stunner every play? Put him in a cage with rancid meat and spoiled milk, have people dress up as Dolts fans and walk by and shake the cage every hour, pick up said cage the afternoon of September 13th then release him shortly before opening kickoff.

Man, you can really paint a picture with words :)

I mean if I was DC that is what I would do!

but I would also make sure I had a good lawyer to avoid the lawsuits......

Give me a few years and I'm there!

haha will do
look at that picture up there, poor Tamba is going to have freaking neck and upper back problems the rest of his life if the damn league dont start calling that. Freakin Peyton can cry a little and now umpires are being moved, maybe Clark should stop kicking the soccer ball around his office, compile all these pictures and “accidently” mail them to the league.

Yeah, that's a pretty bad one
The thing is, until he establishes himself as a star, he’s not going to get those calls.
Hopefully he can fight off holds enough to get himself established early on, so the refs watch a little more for it.

well the Tackles
are about to start complaining when he uses his judo moves on them.

seriously
we should compile them all here on AP and mail them to Goodell, doubt he would get back with us though. Maybe Joel can hand carry them next time he has a meeting with him :)

It would be interesting to look at all the Chiefs games
See all the times Tamba gets held and compare that to the other leading rushers. Shed some light if there is some insane bias against Tamba or if it is pretty normal.

Hands
Tambi has to get his hands up and get that guy’s paws off him. Is he being held, yes, but he is lunging at the QB with outstretched arms instead of using his hands to help him drive through the block.
Maybe that's it. I know that I've always felt like he wasn't very good at finishing the deal.
In perfect position to make the tackle and the QB just shrugs him off. Discounting for telephoto – and reverse/side angles sometimes do nullify my initial impression – I still think there’s something to what you’re saying, BPH.
"I ain't lyin' 'bout nothin'."
"Oh? So what exactly are you lying about?"
It ain't like O'Call's a star. I think being dinged-up has cost him other jobs. This wouldn't be the first, for him.
I root for him. Seems a good sort. But RT was a big issue for me the last x seasons, and the one thing that would justify KC’s inactivity in the draft @ RT this year would be an in-house youth movement upgrade.

I'd rather the headline sais 22 starters be sitting
I hate playing any starter in this final meaningless game. it’s just dumb.
