The Kansas City Chiefs first training camp intra-squad scrimmage will take place on Saturday, Aug. 7. It'll be the first look at the team in game-like situations outside of the 11-on-11 they run through at the end of every practice.
The Chiefs aren't practicing with another team this year. It's something Todd Haley said he really hasn't been apart of (outside of a year in New York) and it didn't really come up.
The Wednesday night practice was attended by roughly 8,000 people so I suspect a Saturday scrimmage will have high attendance as well.
The temperature is only (only?) supposed to be in the mid-80s.
Here's what you need to know:
- Gates open at 11:30 a.m. and the scrimmage starts at 1:30 p.m.
- There will be an autograph session before the scrimmage starts
- $10 admission (kids three and under are free)
- You can buy tickets at the complex or at the St. Joe Hy-Vee
It'll be the best look at where the Chiefs stand to this point. They've been in camp for over a week and will be put into game-like situations. We should be able to get some good information out of this.
