Kansas City Chiefs DB Maurice Leggett Getting Closer To A Return

Stay connected for news and updates

On Sunday, we passed along word that Kansas City Chiefs LB Cameron Sheffield was getting back to work after suffering a neck injury against the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday night. Considering the scene when Sheffield originally hurt his neck, and what some of his teammates said afterward, it's an amazing accomplishment.

Now for an update on the other neck/head injury for the Chiefs: Maurice Leggett suffered a neck/head injury last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was quickly determined that he was going to be OK.

Now comes word (via Bob Gretz of CBSSports.com) that Leggett has been cleared to practice. That doesn't necessarily mean he will be practicing but he's been given the OK from the doctors.

He watched practice with his teammates last week and attended the game on Friday night but watched in street clothes.

Two scary injuries for the Chiefs and two positive outcomes.

Now I don't know about you all, but I don't want to hear the words "neck injury" associated with the Chiefs for a long, long time.
