VIDEO: Dexter McCluster Hit Hard By Asante Samuel In Chiefs, Eagles Preseason Game
Kansas City Chiefs WR/RB Dexter McCluster is a small back -- 5'8" and 170 pounds -- so one of the questions about him has been whether he can handle the rough NFL game.
Last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, McCluster was hit hard onto the turf and bounced right back up.
In the video above, you can see he gets hit very, very hard by Eagles CB Asante Samuel. After the play, and after Samuel started flexing his muscles, Todd Haley came running down the sidelines trying to get the ref's attention.. He was looking for either A.) a helmet-to-helmet hit or B.) Samuel for taunting.

At least it was a hard throw
Trent Green/Damon Huard got many a RB lit up by floating their screens too much. That was a bullet.
IMHO, they should use him like Harvin in Minnesota, doing slants out so that he’s a) not crossing into the middle of the field to get lit up and b) allows him to get going speedwise before the throw is made.

And upon further review, I'm pretty convinced their helmets collided.

Someone (was it you?)
Suggested a helmet-to-helmet hit in a previous thread. Didn’t even notice it until then.

Nope, not me, but the noise really comes across when you re-play
it sounds like the impact of plastic, not bodies

Samuels has caught a load of crap of late for not tackling.
He was never a good tackler with the Pats either. Here he is just being cheap.
Here is three frames from the video above (that’s why it’s so blurry). Notice the first thing that moves on McCluster is his head. Asante is leading with his.
The dude look a heck of a cheap shot and got back up. Nice.

The other thing you can see is that Samuels head starts out more blurry (he is moving fast).
By frame three, his head has lost momentum and McCluster’s head has gained momentum.

Cheap shot lol's
Nothing wrong with that hit, those guys are going full blast. Dexter turned into him just as he got there. Samuel did clip helmets but nothing intentional there.
Same kind of hit you’d high five if the roles were reversed. Get a life or go watch baseball. that was just football.
maybe not
but 10 hard hits and he may be
Those were the good ole days... wait I wasn't alive then
Mccluster is one of the best weapons in the draft. I wouldn't worry about his durability any moore than DeSean Jackson

It was a good hit
But let McCluster square up on Samuel and I think that you’d have a lot different result.
At LEAST
He took it like a champ, so far I’ve seen nothing but toughness outta him, and I like it.
Samuels flexing
Did he flex after Bowe caught the TD when Samuels was out of position???? I didn’t see if he was flexing then?
What I don't like is
The two passes before when Cassel threw to Thomas Jones back to back out of the backfield McCluster was wide open.
he seems to bounce back up after every hit....sure doesnt play like hes 5'8
I will say that it was actually arenas who scared me during the game…he kept trying to slice through a small space….kept seeing him come out of it hurt, glad he didnt.
Team Pioli/Haley. Decade of the Chiefs.
Team Colquitt
Arenas is a bulldog and its part of his return style.
Ive noticed he doesnt always necesarily look for a hole but moreso where he can make a hole and small gaps between unsuspecting defenders is a great spot.

Mccluster is a beast! That hit was one of those easy ones and I wouldn't count on that happening to #22 very often!
Whoop them tricks on Monday Nite. Make us Pats fans proud!
