Videos And Photos Of The Chiefs 20-17 Loss To The Eagles

Here are a few video highlights of the Kansas City Chiefs 20-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The videos are coming from NFL.com.

If you click the picture above, you'll be taken to a gallery of photos from the game.

Here are the videos:

RB Jamaal Charles' fumble. Man this one stung. The Chiefs have been talking about starting fast and the first play from scrimmage Charles fumbles it away.

Eagles RB LeSean McCoy's 18-yard touchdown run. This came two plays after Charles' fumble. Clearly one of the worst possible starts.

Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe's four-yard touchdown catch. This was the big drive -- 16 plays. Nice end to it.

Kendrick Lewis interception. This was really a team effort. The front seven pressured Eagles QB Kevin Kolb and made him step up in the pocket helping force the interception. It was an excellent return by Lewis as well.

Thomas Jones touchdown run. The Chiefs were on the 11-yard line and lined up in shotgun. QB Matt Cassel hands it off to Jones to scamper in for the score. This gave the Chiefs the lead.

Game highlights. Like last week, I saw improvement in a handful of areas so it's not a total loss. Still, though, you'd like to see that win.

Man that Charles fumble hurt

I’m glad Haley put him back on the horse.

Yep.

Had he been stuck on the bench after that, this game would have sucked.
I forgot how illusive he was. (This is the first preseason game I watched)

Speaking of illusive, McCluster is going to be special. He looked much better than Arenas on kickoffs too, but I understand Javier was awesome the first couple games.

Don't get Jose Bautista Mad. You wouldn't like him when he is mad.

Hey

At least we have options now… for a change. Actual play-makers. I’m not going to predict a playoff berth or anything like that, but it’s looking like a lot more fun this year.

When

we drafted them I figured DMc would return the kickoffs and Arenas would take the punts. Now, I just don’t know. I guess it really doesn’t matter like you said, “we have options now…. for a change. Actual play-makers.” – Nice!

Either way...

The return game looks better than it has in years. Even the coverage units played well, except for the one big return following Jones’ TD.

encouraged by the effort especially on defense(up till the final drive)

every game there has been some improvement. hopefully we can get a win next week as a bit of momentum(without any injuries) going into san diego,

two games now where we came out and fumbled it over but were able to bounce back

I worry about charles and an elbow injury

Still watching the replay

I hope Studebaker isn’t like Mays was last year. Great in the preseason, disappear in the regular season…because MAN ALIVE, he played well today. Him and DeMorrio played better than I thought they ever could

All the LB's

As a unit, I’m floored at how good they look.

gotta eat some crow

i was just on here this weak hating the LBs and they sure played well tonight. DJ was still invisible for the most part, but he did get a real nice hit. but yeah as a whole and especially demorrio, and studebaker, the LBs did an excellent job tonight. considering how this game started it sure turned the other way quick. looked actually good at times. more signs of improvement

there are so many positives...too many too even list

but one thing I did notice on special teams was the poor to just flat out pathetic play of Morgan.,,,hes going to get cut in my opinion

Agreed

David Herron might have got himself cut too

I vote to cut Herron on principle alone

Giving up that huge play for taunting when you’re trying to make the team?? Pack your bags buddy.

I think you're absolutely right.

Battle looks an awful lot like Derrick Blaylock subbing in for Priest and LJ.

Weis?

This is where I think we are in Oz. What I mean is, Weis may be calling the plays, but Haley is hidden behind him…

As he should be

He’s the Head Coach, and a great offensive mind.

He reminds me of Michael Turner.

Similar build and running style anyways. Nowhere near the production but he looks like he has potential. He’s bigger than T. Jones (but Jones still has bigger guns).

Our D looked GOOD.
Wow, really really impressed. Even the D-Line looked better, still a long way to go for them though.
Our offense, ugh. My favorite unit, the O-Line is nothing but consistent. Consistently bad.
Add a struggling QB to that and wow, its painful.
Seriously, are people still claiming Cassel’s suckiness is because of the Preseason?
He looks like he has no confidence and no leadership, and sorry, I dont believe Haley or Pioli when they say what a great leader he is.

How are we going to win games we trail in with a QB who will hold onto the ball, refuse to throw downfield, constantly check it down to this RB and average 6 yards a pass?
Damn.

by ThomasJ1776 on Aug 28, 2010 1:09 AM CDT reply actions

I guess I dont understand the Cassel sucks thing

we were winning the game when he left. Why do people expect him to be perfect every game. Also when the Patriots were winning their super bowls Brady averaged around 6-7 yards a pass too

by badassz1987 on Aug 28, 2010 1:33 AM CDT up reply actions

My biggest question is his yardage versus his completions

This may be a play calling thing, but Cassel had 85 yards on 14 completions for a whopping 6 yard average. Compare that to Drew Brees: 18/27 for 240 yds. That’s 16 yards per completion! 10 more than Cassel! I’m really hoping it’s a play call thing and they’ll open it up for the regular season.

Thought He Looked Fine Tonight...

my whole scare is that for the quick check-downs, he’s money. When it comes to scanning the field and finding an open receiver in a quick manner, he’s for shite. That is something that he will eventually (hopefully) learn though…

I understand what your saying ... but...

Last year it seemed to me that Cassell played his best when we were down in the 4th quarter.

I have a feeling that 2010 will be a defining year for the Kansas City Chiefs. Do we become the 2001 Patriots or footballs version of the royals??

For what it's worth.

I was at Arrowhead and, for all of their bravado before the game kicked off, there wasn’t a single Eagles fan I saw who looked like they felt like they won that game walking out at the end.

The third-team scrub Eagles offense scored on the third-team scrub defenders who, in a couple weeks, won’t even be able to call themselves NFL players anymore.

Chiefs fans? Be excited. Eagles fans? You ought to be rethinking that Super Bowl trip you booked.

by JacinB on Aug 28, 2010 1:16 AM CDT reply actions

Yeah....

Seriously, why should I care that Price doesn’t match up well with Riley Cooper 1-on-1? Price very probably won’t even be on this team, let alone playing a WR 1-on-1 with under 30 secs to go in a 3 point game.

by lateralus8 on Aug 28, 2010 2:26 AM CDT up reply actions

Yep.

And, if somehow Price is on the field in that situation, we’ve got a lot more to be concerned about than him giving up a touchdown.

by JacinB on Aug 28, 2010 11:15 PM CDT up reply actions

srubs vs scrubs?

Our starters got a win IMHO.

I think…it sounds corny….but…. we became a team in this game. I like this group.

Concur...

I was going to post a similar statement. There is nothing, well, not a lot to be ashamed about in this game. Our # 1s played great and walked off the field victors. Yeah, the final score says we lost, but to win the # 1 battle against Philly, a supposed Super Bowl contender, makes me damn proud to be a Chiefs fan and very hopeful for the coming season…

What is it with Cassel

and starting off every game so freaking cold? He always looks like he’s been iced like a kicker at the beginning, but as the game progresses he tends to warm up and find his rhythm. Is this only my perception, or can it be backed up with data?

It was the entire team starting slowIMO.

Charles has the fumble, our D gives up one big play and we’re down 7pts in under a minute. Thats not on Cassell. The pick he threw wasn’t a good pass, it found the receiver but it was a bullet and would have bounced off anyone’s hands. But after that he settled down, and after the Eagles first field goal our D did pretty well.

It was a brutal first five minutes or so.

The fumble that turned into a touchdown in exactly 53 seconds. The interception just a few plays later that turned into a field goal.

But, really, I’d say the defense starting stiffening up after the INT because, really, the Eagles had a heckuva short field then, too. I mean, they pretty much started in field goal range. To hold them to just that is pretty good.

by JacinB on Aug 28, 2010 11:18 PM CDT up reply actions

There is kinda 2 ways to look at it...

Oue scrubs gave the game away in the end, but our starters didnt help much by bassically giving away 10 free points in the beginning. So the loss IMO goes on all the players.

But theres so much good out of this game I almost do feel like we won.

The taste of winning was there.

The players know they have the talent to win. They are so close. Maybe their first win will come on MNF. Don’t want them to get over confident after a packer win and not play their hardest on MNF

by DizzyKC on Aug 28, 2010 7:15 AM CDT via mobile reply actions

Good – LBs, DBs, HBs, Bowe, McCluster & Romeo Crennel.

The DL, at times the RT, Cassel and Weis – not as good. It’s preseason, take a shot or two downfield. I don’t think Cassel or Weis have any confidence in Matt’s arm. At least Matt was able to quickly scan the field and dump off semi-accurately after the 1st quarter, but there are going to be times you have to convert on 3rd and long and they haven’t shown the ability to do so consistently.
