If you're looking for a weakness through two preseason games for the Philadelphia Eagles then I think one area would be special teams. The Eagles hired Bobby April, one of the best special teams coaches in the business, this offseason. The results however haven't shown up.
Here's how the Eagles stack up on giving up big returns through two preseason games this year:
Game one vs. Jaguars: The Jags had a 68-yard and a 46-yard kickoff return
Game two vs. Bengals: The Bengals had a 40-yard and a 41-yard kickoff return.
That's an average of nearly 50 yards per kickoff return on those four kicks. Granted it's a small sample size but Arenas is looking good early on so I think it's a good combination for him.
In the first game, Arenas had a 41-yard return and then a 100-yard return that was called back. In the second game, he took a kickoff back 54 yards.
They're both small sample sizes but I think it's an interesting set of statistics. I think the Chiefs are going to need a big return from Arenas to win a game or two this year.
So what do you think? Is it safe to predict one 40+ yard kick return from Arenas?
