PrintI think this counts as Berry's first WOW play. He simply annihilates the running lane with perfect form and leverage. That's how it's DONE!!!
If you were wondering why Berry is playing strong safety, here's your answer. He's like the anti-Pollard on this play. Most rookies are not going to make it. They'll try to go around the fullback and get edged out of the running lane. Not Berry!

I've watch that game 3 times already, but i never noticed him taking out the FB too.
Berry is going to be a great player for us, and will make a impact or should i say more impacts like that one for us this year.
All you guys who wanted McClain or Okung can now line up for the mandatory nut sack kick:P

Im sure Eric will be a good player for us, and I'm happy we added some talent at safety...
… but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s been 10 years+ since we had a LB in the middle of the field that was worth a crap at stuffing the run.
You can save the mandatory nut sack kick for the end of the year. We’ll take a look at how the defense ranks against the run up the middle and then decide if Berry was the best choice =P

Better kick yourself in the nuts
before you kicking anyone else ( assuming you even have a pair ) — especially after Berry’s big whiff on Eagles RB LeSean McCoy that allowed McCoy to score an easy TD. This video does not mean Berry was better choice than Okung or McClain. It’ll be a few years to determine that.

I’m 130% certain that McClain will never miss a single tackle, or that Okung will never allow a tackle for loss or a sack. Ever.

I also saw Berry knock down a pass, lead the team in tackles, and almost make a diving INT. Oh, yeah, and he also laid the wood on DeSean, removing him from the game.

That is pretty awesome. I’m not quite sure how the heck he does it, but I think he surprised the heck out of both the backs. The RB certainly wasn’t expecting the FB to get stopped in his tracks like that. Looked a bit like LJ running towards our offensive line last year.
Btw, you guys notice yet another hold on Hali as he tried to reach out and get the RB there? LT has a pretty solid grip on his jersey/pads as he’s pulling away.
I know people are going to say "fanshot", and maybe it should be...
But I HAVE to rec this. As others have said, I totally missed the “Good God Almighty” factor on that play.

The FB thought Berry would man up and go one on one, not go down at the legs to make him lose leverage and fall.

What? Dude he did not tackle them, he went low to stop the FB, the FB was so upright that its kinda funny.
Hence, he was flipped in mid air and the RB got stopped also because the FB was right in front of him and his way. You must not be that good at physics, you should try that class. Great play though, no doubt, but It wasn’t him tackling both guys as you state.
