Am I Crazy?
DON'T ANSWER THAT!
But seriously, I need help from youse guys because I saw something in Saturday's game and I thought it would be all over the interblogs and it's not. Did I really see it?
Or is there an alien plot?
DON'T ANSWER THAT!
I don't have a DVR anymore (:shakes fist at not having a DVR:) and so I didn't have an opportunity to roll the play back but I'm almost positive that, right after the play where Maurice Leggett got hurt, he's up on his knee for some time and then he goes down on all fours and, right before he crumples, he kind of drives his head into the ground.
Now, I'm not saying I think he did this intentionally; ya'll remember when Gus Frerotte head-butted an unsuspecting stadium wall some years ago IN CELEBRATION? Yeah, not smart. But, have you ever hammered your thumb real good while aiming at a stupid nail? Or, have you ever cut yourself while trying to sharpen a stupid knife? Or, have you ever stubbed your toe on the wife's stupid 16-pound bowling ball at stupid 3am while trying to get to the stupid crapper? STUPID BRATWURST!
Anyhow, I haven't but I'm sure if I did, I'd probably, in response, repeatedly bang an uninjured part of my body--like the palm of my hand or the top of my head--against something hard--like a wall or the top of my head--whilst chanting/yelling varied obscenities into the darkness at the bottom of my voice; it's a bad idea to wake my sleeping princess...or her stupid paddle board.
I'm guessing Maurice Leggett could have had this happen too. He was injured in some way, clearly in pain but moving fine, he goes to all fours and kind of tries to either rest his head against the ground or lightly bang it in frustration but he misjudges and does it a little too hard. This could have resulted in an acute nueropathy of some kind and, because NFLers are rightly antsy about head and neck injuries, he and the staff decided to play it safe.
Maybe the original injury was even a neck injury and the head-bang kind of worsened it. The only thing I know is I might go stark raving madder unless someone either confirms or denies what I saw on the video.
Won't you be that person?
Barry

Maybe a little. LOL
I saw the same thing, but after hearing thathe received a concussion it makes more sense. He was in the heat of the game and his mind told him to jump up before it realized hey what the hell just happened. I’m sure you ask him now and he remembers none of it. I just hope there are no lingering effects.
He definitely got the concussion from the tackle / hit / teammate flying in
He tried to get up, but was dazed and obviously didn’t realize he had a concussion. So he sort of stumbled around on all fours for a second then plopped back down.
Pretty sure he was just punch drunk.

I think he hammed it up a little...
I can say that now that I know he isn’t going to die. Dudes a punk anyway…I hope he gets cut.

not that I love the guy or anything
but after Flowers, Carr, and Arenas there’s not much there. Daniels maybe? But Richardson, Bates, etc aren’t exactly making me do cartwheels. I think MoLegg is probably on the team if he can play.

Daniels got punked
on that short TD pass………That was horrible open field tackling. I agree MoLegg might be in by default.
I was mad as $#%@ when we drafted Dexter McCluster and now I'm ordering his jersey......oh the irony! Go Chiefs!

Problem with Daniels on that play
Is that he was playing like this was happening deep in the opponents’ territory, and he was trying to prevent the big gain.
Sadly, this was inside the 5 yard line, and he needed to be aggressively attacking the ball carrier.
Right technique, wrong situation.

Yep
It was tough to watch………felt bad for the kid. I know he’s been a ball-hawk in camp, but he’s gotta know the situation on plays like that.

Oh, he's on the team
Arenas may be electrifying in the return game, but he’s got a LONG way to go as a defensive back. Leggett is a much better option at nickleback, at least right now.
