Kansas City Chiefs RT Ryan O'Callaghan Leaves Practice Early
The Kansas City Chiefs continued practice on Tuesday morning as they prepare for Friday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The newsworthy item of Tuesday's practice is starting right tackle Ryan O'Callaghan exiting early due to some sort of leg injury. There's no word on whether it's serious or not. He left a practice early a couple weeks ago in training camp as well but was back quickly.
What I do find interesting is that it was Barry Richardson who replaced him. Richardson is apparently the top swing tackle. He's listed on the depth chart as the second team left tackle but has played both sides throughout training camp.
Colin Brown is listed on the depth chart as the second team right tackle.
The Chiefs also switched Bobby Greenwood from defensive end to right tackle. He's been at the position for a week now so giving him any serious playing time might be a bit much right now.
Most teams like to have a swing tackle or someone that can play both the left and right side. It looks like that will be Richardson for the Chiefs.
We'll see if O'Callaghan's injury is short or long term.

Same thing happened a couple weeks ago
And he was fine. We’ll see what this is about.

better for him to leave with a minor injury
and get better than to try and push a severe injury over and over again. Hopefully its nothing but it is good to see Richardson back in the mix, if only Harris would get better, then our line wouldn’t look so thin.
The picture is a Chiefs pumpkin, yeah that is right a Chiefs pumpkin.
At least we're deep at tackle
Politics aside, Obama would of better been served, buying 5 "new" football teams.
Richardson can’t be much worse, or more likely he could be better, we should give him the shot anyways.
O’Cal is a good back-up at best, he should not be a starter in this league. Wasnt he picked up from NE’s practice squad? Or was he just cut by them?
ocall looked a lot better last week, and no, he was on NE's roster and was cut...they liked him though, just had good tackle depth
I still believe he can be a good overall tackle….hope hes ok
we dont have the depth to be losing tackles…much like when richardson went down, lets hope this is a quick one
Team Pioli/Haley. Decade of the Chiefs.
Team Colquitt
anyone catch the chiefs 2009 year in review on nfl N? they did a good job of mentioning the additions to this year
and it really shows you how far we’ve come when the first game shows highlights that seem to only feature guys like Sean Ryan etc

Wonder what good O-Linemen
are gonna be available around cut times. Hopefully we can do some damage there for depth.
GO BEARS!
O’Callahan will be back and on a mission.
