Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Todd Haley Briefly Addresses Maurice Leggett Injury

Stay connected for news and updates

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley briefly addressed the Maurice Leggett neck injury from Saturday night.

Leggett had suffered some sort of neck injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was carted off the field and stayed the night in a Tampa hospital.

"Everything is positive that I have heard and should not affect him career-wise," Haley said Monday. "There’s nothing spinal related. Trainers and doctors do everything they can do as far as taking precautions."

Beyond that, Haley didn't say much. He wouldn't confirm whether Leggett was still in Tampa or back in Kansas City. He said hopefully Leggett can "get back at it sooner rather than later."

Brad Cottam suffered a neck injury for the Chiefs last year. Afterward, Haley briefly talked about Cottam's injury and surgery but kept most of it off limits.
