Jeremy Horne: The Deep Threat We've Been Missing?
Maybe I'm jumping the gun a little here. But there's been a lot of discussion lately about how we need to heave the deep ball a few times per game just to keep the defenses honest. And really, a legit deep threat will spread the D out enough to really open it up for our burners like Jamaal and Dex. That said, we've seen in the last couple of weeks that Jeremy Horne can get separation downfield. And we've seen he can catch a pass when it counts. So what are the AP faithful's thoughts on giving this kid some opportunities a few times each game to give Matty a deep target and keep the defense honest. Let's face it, Chambers won't get younger. And Horne is only 23. He's also showing that he'll perform when it matters and that he really wants to get into games for the Chiefs. Am I completely off my rocker here?

Special Teams...
He’ll vastly improve his chances if he can play well on special teams. I’m really not sure what his opportunities have been there. But to make the team, I think we are going to have to keep 6 WR or he will have to unseat Copper on ST. At this point I would say his best chance is if we keep six.
All that said, there is a reason they wanted to see him with the first team last night.

Yeah
The guy that gets money to take the snap from the Center and hand it off or throw it to people.
Chiefs - back in the playoffs in 2011.
I think Horne helped himself a lot last night
and I am beginning to think that he will make the team also. 1 cuz of his speed and we need a deep threat, also the TD catch last night and if I remember correctly I believe there was another play where he got open in the endzone again and Palko just didnt see him
The guy gets open and catches passes.
It is hard to argue with success. I think if he can be a legitimate special teams player he probably stands a good chance of making the team. If not, he may not make it.
"The Hammer"
The simple fact that he was playing in the first quarter is a great sign that the staff sees a lot in him.
At this point I think he’ll make the final roster, because I doubt he clears waivers now that he’s got pre season film for other teams to see. It would be nice to have a speed guy waiting in the wings to take Chambers spot.
Predictions:
This year will be better
Yeah.. He just might be our deep threat...
Now if only Matt Cassel could learn how to NOT under-throw a ball.
I know that you're afraid... you're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin.
