I can't believe how quiet it is this morning, and maybe it is just the folks who think like I do don't want to take the crap, but what the hell.... I responded to a post a couple of weeks ago regarding what our record might be this year by posing the question; "Are the Chiefs more improved than the teams we will be facing this year?"
Last night we faced a team that was even more inept than we were last year. Not only did our first team at best play their first team to a tie, but our reserves were clearly not equal to theirs. You can parse individual performances and justify what you want, but the score is the score. Yes we have improved uur offense and it looks like Cassel and Co. will have more weapons and better play than 09, but what if they don't get on the field any more than last year?
It appears to me that our defense is in a world of hurt. Remember the bucs were even more ineffectual in many offensive categories than we were last year. I am sure someone will find some category they actually were better but rushing was worse than us. What happend to Flowers could happen to anyone, but except for keeping us honest why would anyone run often against us or throw towards Flowers when the it would appear the other side is going to be perpertually open? I have seen nothing in the first 2 games that would indicate our team has improved more than the teams they will be facing.
In fact, given that NE pounded Atlanta, and given the Bucs did us in with reserves, I am beginning to think 6-10 looks pretty good. OK, it is a hot day, start pouring the Kool Aid :-)
