It's a rainy morning in St. Joe but the Kansas City Chiefs will be outdoors for the first of two practices. I'm not in St. Joe for the morning session but I will be this afternoon.
The Chiefs have had one two-a-day so far. On Saturday they started at 8:50 a.m. and then again at 4:30 p.m. They'll have the same schedule today.
The morning session will have temperatures in the low-to-mid 80s and the afternoon will see temps rise to the mid-90s.
Don't discount the weather in these practices. It's hot and there's nowhere to hide from the sun.
Chiefs coach Todd Haley has said that the players safety is their number one priority at this point (The NFLPA says the same thing so they agree on something!). Mike Vrabel joked after the first practice that he didn't mind the rain because it meant getting out of the heat. "A little rain never hurt anyone," he said laughing.
We'll be back with an update on the afternoon practice from the usual suspects.
