Finally Going to Arrowhead

So I have been a Chiefs fan since the days of Montana and I have made a point to watch every game I possibly could since then. I have always wanted to go to a game at Arrowhead and feel what it was like. So last night as a gift to myself for my 30th birthday I booked a trip to MO and i will be going to the last pre-season game Vs. Green Bay. I wish it could have been a regular season game but that is the only time I could go. I am so excited to see the new Arrowhead and experience a game first hand. I even ordered an Eric Berry jersey that will hopefully be here in time for me to wear it.

I just wanted to know if anyone had any advice on when to show up, where to park, or anything I should know or want to see while i'm there. Also, is there any good time/place to try to get an autograph or two before/after the game. Thanks in advance....I hope it lives up to my expectations.

Depends

You can park the hotel and walk over or you can tailgate in the parking lot..

Have fun!

I’ll most likely go to my first game ever this year versus the Cardinals!

Show up early, 3-4 hours before

Ask one of the attendants where the best tailgate parking is. Go there. Tailgate. Cook some barbeque, walk around, talk to people.

If you don’t want to drive there from wherever you are staying, then you should know that the metro does run quite a few express lines to the stadium that are much cheaper than parking there.

Nothing to really see around the stadium. Don’t know how long you’ll be staying, but if its for the weekend then be sure to check out: 1. Negro league museum. Its really incredible. 2. WWI museum. 3. Catch a Royals game if there is one. 4. Power and light district, if your into that sort of thing.

For autographs there are usually 3-4 players (sometimes more, this is part of why I was sad to see Jared go, he always did this) near the Northeast corner of the field signing autographs before warmups.

Havn’t been to the “new” Arrowhead myself so I can’t tell you what to see once your inside.

Oh, and just a word of advice, I don’t know where your tickets are, but if they are club level, then try to trade them for something either in the lower or upper levels. I figure since this is your first chance, you’ll want to really experience the atmosphere and the club level(which is stupidly where all the renovation money went) is usually deader than a graveyard.

The stadium now has

the founders plaza and hall of fame. Those two items in itself would be worth going to see.

thanks for the info everyone

I haven’t got the tickets yet… i have been looking on ebay for a decently priced ticket…i only need 1. If all else fails i’ll just buy one for the 300 level…i’m just hoping that i will be able to see the game well enough up there

Even the 300 level is a good view

You get to see plays develop. If you get down low I suggest 10-15 rows from the field. Just my opinion tho

Be aware you'll need $22 to park

That more often than not gets quite the WTF?! from people who aren’t expecting it.

Ridiculous, I’ll add.

In wondrous beauty, once again, shall the golden tables stand mid the grass, which the gods had owned in the days of old.
