Does Zone Blocking really mean...

Weak undersized cheap incompetent run blocking?

Why have we stressed the power run game with such a weak offensive line? The only reason we ran last year was because of Charles and his speed...not that thats a bad thing. Its great a to have a really good RB who can make something out of nothing, which we need, because our line is nothing. Especially trying to power it through the middle.

Why did we bring in Jones to run up the middle when Niswanger is not going to be able to push anyone out of the way?

When you look at at alot of the good rushing attacks across the league most seem to use the big heavys to bulldoze.

Whats wrong with that? Why is the not deemed an advantage to have someone who has the chance to be bigger and stronger to try and learn technique as opposed to someone who is smaller and lighter trying to learn close to the same thing?

And taking cast-offs from other good teams may not be the best idea. Good teams tend to get rid of sub-par players, thus they tend to stay above average. Why does it seem a good thing to take players who could not hack it with the playoff caliber teams?

I loved the draft this year, but was hoping one way or another we had been aggressive addressing our O-Line. With an average QB who holds the ball too long and trying to emphasize a power running game, it just seems like it might be a good idea to adjust the roster accordingly as opposed to "emphasizing the "right" instead of appropriate or advantageous.

Sorry, I had to rant. After being embarrassed at the game on Friday by our offense, with it being in the same position as last year, its just frustrating. In my opinion our offense has not changed the past 2 years, nor does it seem to this year. Below to average QB play, horrible run blocking, weak pass protection, a horrible center and right side, just now we have a RB that can use his speed to hide the glaring problems that have not been fixed.
