Chiefs Training Camp: The Day At The Movies

Photo

The Kansas City Chiefs spent the day at Hollywood Theaters in St. Joseph, Missouri instead of practicing at the MWSU facilities.

Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com has the reaction of several players and Todd Haley.

"I could only hear portions of it because Shaun Smith was one row behind me snoring louder than I’ve ever heard a human being snore." Haley said.

Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson saw The Other Guys along with Haley. Punter Dustin Colquitt saw Dinner For Schmucks.

Since DVR came along, I never see commercials anymore, which means I never see movie previews. I couldn't tell you anything about any of the movies that are out these days.

Movie buffs, did these Chiefs make the right call with their movie selections?

Sounds like they went for something light

Personally, I think Inception is the best movie out there right now. I’m kind of surprised they didn’t all go see The Expendables.

Inception was deep.

Man, you really had to pay attention.

Don't think Sean Smith could handle it

I heard Trent Green went to see The Expendables.

So you got the fax. So why didn't you add it to the resume? What do you mean? Of course martial arts training is relevant.

I’m persistent… when it says “try again later”… well, I keep trying.

Yeah... "try again later" ....

roughly translated by you, it sounds like “try again immediately”. lol

As Samuel L. Jackson’s character is based on Croyle.

I want to see both actually!

But as often as I get to the movies I’ll probably not see either until they hit Red Box. The Other Guys looks good though. Dinner for Schmucks looks like it might be really dumb. I’m sure I’ll watch it though. lol

After their performance the other night

they should have gone to Despicable Me

that's colder

of course, if that’s the best you can do is call them names, well … maybe you qualify for the 5th Grader Award … something we’ve just started here on AP

I’ve never qualified for higher than 3rd. They were both poo poo heads!

Insert witty yet thought provoking phrase here.

not Herm, no way, no how (granted he wasn’t given the team for that but don’t think he’d ever accomplish that)

both those sound like ridiculously dumb movies to me ...

… but then, I suppose they were going for “escapist fare” and nothing that anyone had to actually THINK about …

I prefer things like K-Pax, Life As A House, The Great Escape, What Dreams May Come, Shawshank Redemption

Watch Eraserhead then

If that doesn’t blow your mind, I truly don’t think anything can.

wait, are you talking about the one that was done as an audio?

very much like a Lovecraft story only it was a guy changing diapers … absolutely AWESOME stuff

WARNING: new fathers will never be the same again after hearing The Thing In The Cradle (I’ll have to find out the actual title and who does it … dark, foreboding, ultimately hilarious)

"What the feazy?"

Your o-line took one up the rump and you reward them with a movie? No. Seriously, a movie? If you want team comradery, sign the guys up for a bootcamp or something. Hell, if you’re going to watch a movie…. Any Given Sunday would be my pick.
