Former Chiefs QB Trent Green Replaced By Kurt Warner, Again

In 1999, Trent Green suffered a season-ending injury in preseason which then put his replacement, Kurt Warner, on the national stage where he shined becoming one of the era's best quarterbacks.

That injury eventually led to the St. Louis Rams trading Green to the Kansas City Chiefs, where he led them through the best offensive period in team history.

11 years later and Green has been replaced by Warner again.

FOX Sports will replace Green with Warner in their analyst lineup with Warner's first game coming Oct. 10.

Green worked the Chiefs game on Friday night for the Chiefs Television Network and while you could tell he was still a newbie, I thought he did a good job. Maybe that was just my Trent Green bias showing.

Green and the voice of Mizzou, Mike Kelly, will call the rest of the Chiefs preseason games.

That's okay Trent...

Comeback home and become Len Dawson’s apprentice…

You have to sometimes wonder...

… if Trent would have been able to take St. Louis all the way. It is really a sad and depressing story when you look at it from Trents perspective. That being said I have never seen nor heard of Trent being bitter, a true class act.

I guess I’ve said it that way so many times I just believed it to be true.

No, I think it really is..... isn't it?

So you got the fax. So why didn't you add it to the resume? What do you mean? Of course martial arts training is relevant.

Seriously, he is a great guy

I met him on a flight to Florida when he was with the Dolphins. It was right after the concussion that he had there. He was obviously very tired, but didn’t dis a single person who asked him for an autograph. And some people were downright rude about it, I literally saw somebody wake him up on the flight to ask for an autograph. He just smiled and signed.

It would be great to cement a guy like Trent in KC history, and I think local sports coverage would be a good step on the way.

I believe he could.

He was the ultimate game manager and knew how to use the weapons around him. Look what he did with the Chiefs and all he really had as a threat was #88 other than Priest.

So what Trent is done at FoxSports?

I bet he takes a job working strictly with the Chiefs now.

The picture is a Chiefs pumpkin, yeah that is right a Chiefs pumpkin.

I thought they did great Friday.

Trent was the stud he always is. The guy knows football and doesn’t have that “I’m going to talk down to you” attitude that some former players have. The MO dude was also good I thought. The only goof ups I caught was………. He messed up and called their stadium “Arrowhead”……… and he got Lewis confused with someone else after a tackle. Lewis made the tackle and he called him Berry. There are many many names and numbers in the preseason so, I thought that was pretty good considering. Green is the kind of guy that will be good at what ever he decides to do. Good luck Trent.

Trent...."Damn it, not again!"

It seems like this guy can’t shake Kurt. Man it seems like wherever he’s at, Kurt is hiding somewhere in the bushes.
