I made the same post last year and everyone jumped my SH#T. A 5th grader could tell last year that the right offensive tackle position needed to be fixed. The "Don", as some of you Jonestown kool-aid drinking sheep call him, failed to address the problem. This position still needs to be fixed at any cost.
This year a 4th grader recognizes that we need a major upgrade at nose tackle. Again, "the Don", somehow knows better. Pioli needs to play the one chip he has before the season starts this year. He needs set his ego aside, deal Page for a decent nose. Anything is better than Ron Edwards.
I look forward to the sheep's response who will rush to Pioli'sdefense. I have been waiting for 20 years. The company line that this is a process, be patient, is pure BS. In business, a good manager balances short-term earnings with long term rewards. Pioli needs to focus a bit more on the near term earnings. His performance review after year 1 is very suspect. He should be put on notice. His performance to date is not acceptable. The goal is the Super Bowl - Every Year! No other goal is acceptable!
Last thought, I agree with a structured approach to rebuilding. It is good to follow proven methods. However, Pioli and Haley need to be innovative as well. If I hear on more reference to Bill Parcell and how he did it, I am going to get sick. It is 2010. It is not 1985.
Pioli is a smart guy. He needs to let the common sense fairy sprinkle a little magic dust on his shiny head.
