The Kansas City Chiefs have ruled out three players for tonight's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons, according to Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com.
[UPDATE 6:08 PM: Per Josh Looney, "Ryan O'Callaghan will play tonight; mix-up in communication JAKE O'CONNELL is the scratch along with Moeaki and Harris"]
TE Tony Moeaki
This isn't a huge surprise. He suffered a slight injury in the Chiefs intra-squad scrimmage last week. This is more precautionary than anything.
Looks like we'll have to wait until next week to determine if Moeaki is the real deal.
Leonard Pope will likely get the start in his place (he was likely going to start anyway). This helps a guy like Jake O'Connell, who is fighting for a roster spot.
G Darryl Harris
Again, no surprise here. Harris suffered an injury last week and he hasn't been seen anywhere since then. We're not sure what's up with him.
A combination of Ikechuku Ndukwe and rookie Jon Asamoah have seen on the left side in camp.
This also means that Brian Waters is available. I imagine he'll get the start (if he plays).
RT Ryan O'Callaghan
This is a surprise. O'Callaghan hasn't had any noticeable injuries during training camp.
He's lined up at first team right tackle every day of camp.
Second year offensive lineman Colin Brown has been seeing time at right tackle on the second team.
