I’m not from Kansas City nor have I ever lived in Kansas City. But ever since I can remember (thanks to strong influence from my parents who are from KC) I’ve been a devout Chiefs fan. I remember...
I remember the day DT died.
I remember the kicker who must not be named.
I remember when we traded away Rich Gannon in favor of Elvis Grbac.
I remember keeping hope when my Parents had given up on the Chiefs, only to be rewarded with a Tamarick Vanover return for a touchdown or an Andre Rison in-game “Spiderman” grab.
I remember the “youth” movement and rebuilding (the dark ages of the Chiefs for my generation)
And now I feel hope. I’ve always been optimistic, blindly faithful, whatever you may call it…. But now I have a sense of confidence in my Chiefs. I feel like finally we have fielded a respectable squad and made very good decisions for consecutive seasons. Although our record doesn’t indicate significant improvement, I can see and I can feel that we are a new team – a good team.
So I’m here right now declaring that I’ve stuck with the Chiefs, I’ve been through the losing seasons, and I’ve loyally stuck by their side.
And now Chiefs Nation, if you too have stuck with the Chiefs and believe that this season is going to be a turning point for the entire franchise. Leave your mark in the comments, show your support. It will be nice to look back on this post and be able to say, I was there, I believed, look where we are now.
This is our year. Let’s go Chiefs
