Obviously the answers are an emphatic YES!!!!! While we dissect the talent at differing positions, and the coaching staff as well, is there any reason to believe this team has developed CONFIDENCE which is a proven ingredient in winners.
Most of us are optimistic about the team since Pioli has been placed in charge, right? What about the players? Do they now operate like they aren't wasting their time and just drawing a paycheck? Do they believe?
It appears from observing the various outlets of information that the team has bought what Pioli and this coaching staff has brought in to KC. Despite losing last year, a new attitude seems to have spread through the entire organization and community. While many picked our QB apart, his competitive determination to take risks to try to win made a believer of his teammates. If you have played sports, you know that leadership of players plays a huge role in attitude, and develops that all important necessity - TEAM CHEMISTRY. Confidence comes from believing you have a chance to win and the leader to make it happen. While our QB made mistakes last year, you never saw him quit. After being pummeled numerous times he just got up and kept getting after it. I believe the players have confidence in our QB, which in turn gives them confidence.
Furthermore, I believe our players have confidence in our coaching staff, and certainly the Chiefs community is going gaga over the additions that were made in the coaching staff. Having Emmitt Thomas, a man with Hall of Fame credentials and is tied into the history of our franchise is icing on the cake. Having coordinators who both have SUPER BOWL credentials from the recent past just adds to the belief in where this team is headed. Confidence is soaring at Arrowhead Drive.
Please do not fail to realize that for the first time in a long while we have a free agent player, who has legitimate credentials come into our town wanting to get a deal done a be here for reasons other than a paycheck. Having players coming into town, bringing a desire to be a piece of the puzzle hasn't happened in like forever. Having an organization which attracts talent rather than be ignored tells us something good is happening to this team.
Confident teams find ways to win when the going gets tough and equates to a winning attitude which is seen by production on the field. Is this team poised for a breakout season? Personally I am Confident that we will play much better football this year which will be seen in the win column at years end. Is this team confident enough to overcome it's shortcomings and make a run? I'd rather believe than disbelieve, but it's the players belief that counts the most and it's happening evidenced by the offseason work we've seen so far. HOT DAMN! GOOO CHIEFS!!!!
