Kansas City Chiefs Make It Official With Eric Berry
On Friday evening, here's what Todd Haley said when asked about Eric Berry.
"I don't know that that's even a fact. I haven't talked to anybody other than [Chiefs PR] since I came off the field so I don't that anything is done, not done, signed, not signed. As soon as something like that is up, somebody will make an announcement."
Well, later on Friday night, the Chiefs have made that announcement and it's official: Eric Berry has put pen-to-paper on his contract.
No financial terms have been released but the number floating around is six-years, $60 million with $34 million guaranteed.
Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers told us after practice this afternoon that he had been talking to Berry throughout this process and he's ready to get on the field tomorrow.

Great News
Still think the money is absurd for a non proven Pro but it is what it is…King Carl prob would have made this last 2 weeks and still paid him the same amount of money…Goo to see Pioli get it in and get it done…Now Berry be the player we all hope you will be…
People think there are 4 seasons. I beg to differ, there are 2...Football and Non Football Season!!!
I like our deal alot better.
Especially since our guy isnt coming off a significant injury and has actually played football in the year leading up to this season.

Was there some kindda bet about this signing?
If so, what were the terms (something about BBQ if I remember)?
Oh…and who won?
It sounds like Nick is weezeling the fine points
Will be interesting to see what the post is going to look like?
I sure hope we get a little fore-warning Joel when it will appear.
Nick better defend his points like the rest of the AP faithful have too when we hang our Asses out in the fanposts!

Yeah
If Berry signed before Aug. 5, I win. If Berry signed on Aug. 5 or after, Nick Wright (610 Sports) wins.
Looks like I won. A barbecue meal of my choice (I’m going with OK Joe’s z-man and fries).

#4 pick signed yesterday
Trent Williams got 60mil/6 years with 36.5mil guaranteed, so this makes sense. Dominos falling into place. Bottom line: Done Deal. Great news—Berry’s in camp!
It will be worth every penny....
when he folds Rivers in half… or snags a pick-6…
I can’t wait to see this guy on the field on Sundays.

LOL... Did anyone catch this from Gretz's report:
Starting LG Brian Waters did pass the conditioning test on Thursday, but he did not practice on Friday. Haley wouldn’t address why, but it seemed to be the lingering effects of the foot/ankle injury that Waters suffered on the first day of training camp last year. He should not be out long.
That’s funny.

Whats so funny about it???
The fact that he’s still got a lingering issue that he got this day last year? He played most of the season with a bad foot/ankle. That is very hard for a big guard that generally pulls on run plays, to play through.
Everybody thought he had a decline in play last season, Well I personally think he had a problem that didn’t allow him to fully plant both feet.

You really think he's suffering from a foot injury from a year ago?
One that allowed him to play through 16 regular season games… yet keeps him out of practice?
It’s more likely that he actually injured himself yesterday doing the conditioning test. Gretz is just goofy for thinking a foot injury from training camp last year is the reason he didn’t practice today.

I was kind of thinking
he may pulled a hamstring or something too. He’s not a spring chicken anymore. Maybe Haley is giving him the Favre training camp treatment……ha ha yeah right!

LOLOLOL You all are funny...
Waters is a VETERAN….Do you really think he is injured? He will sit out a few days and then come back as good as ever. Sounds like Favre in a way. Waters knows how to get in shape after all these years and he doesn’t want to do 2 a days.

Just realize this....
Brian Waters did NOT play all 16 games last season, and with the way the injury was described(what i read) sounded pretty painful. What I read is that during a blocking drill, when he took a step backwards, instead of stepping down on his foot, he came down on his ankle. Applying all his body weight and the force of the other guy, completely down on his ankle. Stretching the muscle.
Second off, are you at training camp? Are you a trainer? I don’t mean to sound like an asshole, but you really have no idea what is causing him to sit out. The ankle could very well be the reason.

Are YOU at camp? Are YOU a trainer? Do YOU know why he's sitting out?
No, you don’t, so chill the hell out dude. Don’t use that bullshit “you’re not in any position to know about it” card, cause frankly, you’re in the exact same position. Bottom line is that the Chiefs aren’t disclosing on why Waters isn’t practicing, so we’re free to speculate.
And you’re right… Waters missed a game last year. Week 15 agains the Browns becasue of a hamstring pull. I really don’t think he has a lingering foot injury from a freaking year ago. Get real dude. He hurt himself during the conditioning test and Haley isn’t talking about it so he doesn’t catch crap for riding his players so hard.

Now Dion Gales gained weight for NT?
Nduckwe is OL
Both knew what was up. I looked at the possible depth chart according to Gretz.
I wouldn’t want to be third team on this roster

Holy Cripes, all picks are signed on the first day of training camp?!?!?!?! (Wish I coulda said by, but oh well...)

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes; after that, who cares?! He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!
