Update: Eric Berry Signs Contract, Headed To Chiefs Training Camp

Update: Berry is saying that the deal is done, per his Twitter account.

With no official word of a contract or really any other news, Kansas City Chiefs rookie safety Eric Berry just tweeted out this:

Bout to head to st. Joe!!!

He's referring to St. Joseph, MO, of course, the home of the Kansas City Chiefs training camp this year.

Does this mean Berry is close to a contract? Probably so but it isn't definite. But why else would you head to training camp unless you were about to sign a contract and get on the field?

If Eric Berry makes it in time for today's 1:50 PM practice, all of the Chiefs' rookies will be in camp on time.

Looks like BBQ for Joel....Sorry Nick Wright.

I agree with you...

…however it’s generally best to avoid the BBQ debate here on AP. Not that I have anything against it, but most of our fellow fans tend to prefer the lunch counter BBQ style vice the sitdown service you get at Jack Stack.

I was just at Jack Stack in OP last weekend

They meat was good, sauce was okay. OK Joe’s still better IMHO.

OP location is okay...

I only go to that one if I have to for some strange reason. Really, always go to Martin City if you can help it at all. The original will always be the best.

OK Joes is okay/good I guess (I’ve only gotten to eat there twice I think, having been out of KC for 7 years now), I certainly have no complaints about it. I just prefer Jack Stack, and it’s a family thing as well.

The Martin City Jack Stack

Is light-years ahead of the other locations, and probably my favorite restaurant in the city.

I’m on both sides of this debate. Okie Joe’s is my fav BBQ place for everyday eats, but the MC JS is one of the best meals you’ll ever eat. Tremendous, even if it is a little pricey ‘for BBQ.’

I couldn't disagree more.

Doesn’t this Berry punk know it’s his duty as a high draft pick to hold out until training camp is almost over as a way of sticking it to the NCAA somehow? Now who will put the institution of college football in its place by using it as a springboard to ridiculously incredible fortune?

Well this is kick ass news of the most ass kicking variety.

I’d love to hang out and BS with everyone on this, but unfortunately I actually have work to do. I’ll be back in a couple of hours.

I’ll be arriving from Colorado tonight and there till Monday. Where is Uncle Nick taking us for BBQ?
I vote for Bryant’s.

From One Eric To Another...

Things to get the Chiefs back on the winning side of football:

1. Haley resign as offensive coordinator or do the following;
a. Feed JC more
b. Take the cuffs off of Cassel and let him air it out
2. Fire Clancy "Calls" Playslikeass
