Scott Pioli Says Chiefs Aren't Interested In Former Mizzou WR Danario Alexander
Well, there goes that dream.
For many Kansas City area fans, the thought of bringing in former Mizzou WR Danario Alexander was intriguing. He's got a lot of upside catching 113 balls and over 1,700 yards in his senior season at Missouri but he's also got the three knee surgeries.
"He's not a player we're focused on right now," Pioli told Kevin Kietzmann on 810 WHB's Between The Lines this afternoon. "There are a lot of players in different areas that have strong followings and strong beliefs. It has nothing to do with the guy or who he is as a person. He's a wonderful guy. He's just not...I'm going to be getting this question for years aren't I?"
Pioli obviously understands how people in this area feel about Alexander. In fact, he said a fan yelled at him on a plane recently over Alexander.
Alexander's workout for NFL teams is tomorrow morning and the Rams are scheduled to bring him in for a workout. I've detailed all the Danario Alexander news right here.

No where did it say a Mizzou fan yelled at pioli
it just said fan. It could have been just a non-Mizzou chiefs fan.
Im not starting a MU-ku thing here. I just hate when people bash assume it was our fanbase without any evidence to back it up.

BEAST MODE!
I’m the first to tout the classic, timeless look of our beloved Chiefs’ jerseys, but the MU Pro Combat jerseys were just badass. How sick would it be for us to unveil something similar on Monday night? We could have the red-on-red look for the helmets. Then continue to crush the Chargers on national television.
Sorry, just had a Chiefsgasm.
He is referring to the Mizzou fans obsessed with him
Or is he Muslim?
Ha
Mizzou fans obsessed with him…that question at the end was to Kietzmann like, “I’m always going to hear from Kansas Citians about passing on this Mizzou kid”

I understand where Pioli is coming from on this...
3 surgeries is a lot on one knee before ever graduating from college.
He IS a really good player though.
Just like Pioli said he doesn't believe in drafting a safety that high?
This doesn’t mean that Alexander isn’t likely to join the Chiefs; but Pioli is a shrewd businessman and he wouldn’t tip his hat if there was a talented player that can be evaluated and signed for cheap.
don't think so
the knees kill most teams interst, and let’s face it with so few rostewr spots do you wnt to give one up the has already had this problem?
is it me? or isn't about time the Lamar Hunt trophy belonged to His team?

I'm not at all surprised by the buzzkill of Pioli.
Pretty sure with a bummed knee he would be the 3rd reciever at worst
3rd?
No way. Maybe a future #2 but there’s no way he could beat any of our other guys at this stage of the game. He had a serious knee injury and it would take a long time to get him acclimated to this style of offense after being in the spread through College…
Why not?
Didn’t we look at Bobby engram and Ashley Lalie? What could it cost to give him a camp spot

Even still, I bet we have a scout at the pro day tomorrow
It would be stupid and lazy not to, it’s practically in their backyard.

waiver wire?
Cincy has Ocho,T.O., Antonio Bryant, Shipley, Briscoe, Caldwell and another wr I cant remember name. Makes me wonder what players or positions we will be looking to get help for through the waiver wire or first cuts. I think we could look at a pass rush lb or a nt(doubt there will be one available). On offense I could see a possible Right Tackle but other than that I think our team consists of the players we currently have showing up to camp. Thoughts?

Cue the sound of my heart breaking....
No really, I never did expect Pioli to really give DA a chance, but I am sure there will be a team out there who does and they will pick up a great receiver (assuming he doesn’t re-injure his knee).
