Former Jayhawk, Current Charger Darrell Stuckey Thanks The Chiefs
As I told you yesterday I attended the SportKC PROPS (People Recognizing Outstanding People of Sports) event on Wednesday evening at the Midland Theater in downtown Kansas City. I'll have a full rundown of the event at some point today but I wanted to share one story from former Jayhawks safety Darrell Stuckey.
Stuckey was awarded the Co-Collegiate Male Athlete Of The Year award and thanked the Chiefs during his speech.
Stuckey, a Kansas City, KS native, talked about growing up the area and playing football then moving onto Lawrence, KS to play college football.
He said, "Anything great that I've done, has happened in Kansas City. So, I would like to thank Mark [Donovan, Chiefs COO] for getting that Monday Night Football game scheduled so I can play my first NFL game back in front of the hometown fans."
I'm not sure Kansas City, or even all the Jayhawks, will be cheering for Stuckey that night but it was a cool statement because he really does appreciate Kansas City.
I guess we'll see you Sept. 13, Darrell.

Then stop jerking off with the other
It’s a bit weird you do that when you are on AP anyways.

As a huge KU fan I've been pretty conflicted about how to handle Darrell Stuckey playing for the Chargers.
I’ve decided to root for him to have a fantastic career, and play well in every game that isn’t against the Chiefs. Additionally I tend to root for the AFC West in the playoffs (well, not the Raiders, but that hasn’t been an issue of late) so I’ll have no qualms unequivocally rooting for him in a playoff game that isn’t against us. Also I’ll root for him to be traded out of the AFC West, or to sign with another team as a top free agent, preferably in KC.
As a huge K-State fan
I have no problem saying that when TJ hits that hole and the only person between him and a TD is Darrell Stuckey, I hope TJ runs him the f**k over.

If you want to cheer on a local kid on Sept. 13th
How about we cheer for Jeffrey Fitzgerald turning the corner from Rivers’ blindside, picking him up and body slamming him into the Arrowhead turf face first, knocking that smirk permanently off his face. I would gladly cheer for that.

What the hell is up with the Chargers taking all the KC athletes?
Sproles, and now Stuckey.

Well that's too bad
“Anything great that I’ve done, has happened in Kansas City. So, I would like to thank Mark [Donovan, Chiefs COO] for getting that Monday Night Football game scheduled so I can play my first NFL game back in front of the hometown fans.”
Too bad that his first NFL game will be a crushing, embarrassing loss on National TV in his hometown.
Wish him all the luck in the world...
It is hard to see him in a Chargers uniform as Darrell Stuckey is probably one of the classiest person you could ever meet. They guy is the perfect student-athlete on and off the field. I wish he was drafted by KC, but things don’t always work out the way we hope.
Wouldn’t surprise me if he tried to run for City Government in either Lawrence or Kansas City when he is older. He is the type of person you want leading your people.
I wish Darrell all the best outside of when he plays the Chiefs!

Like several others..
Best of luck to Stuckey. As a KU fan, of course I would have loved to see him in KC, but I’m also realistic. Stuckey is no Eric Berry. Atleast, that we know of.
Hope he has a great career, as long as he doesnt cause any problems for the Chiefs!
