If I Was The GM

It's Janury 13th, you are hired by the Kansas City Chiefs, to be there GM of the future and too rebuild the team.

Herm Edwards has been fired and you mest find his replacement. I interview Leslie Frazier,Todd Haley,Jon Gruden. You hire Leslie Frazier a defensive minded coach who will bring a fiery attitude to our defense.

Another hole is that you have no defensive coordinator, so you interview Jon Gruden,Pepper Johnson,Brian Stewert.

You hire Pepper Johnson a defensive line specialist who has learned under Dan Peas and I think Romeo Crennel.

You fire offensive coordinator Chan Gailey. And you interview Jeff Jagodinski,Hue Jackson, Chris Palmer. You hire Hue Jackson.

Next, is free agency where you have about 33-37 million over of the cap.

With holes at QB/RB/WR/TE/OL/DL/DB.

You sign OT Marvel Smith to a 2 year deal worth 4 million. This pickup gives you two bookend tackles.

You sign Jabar Gaffney to 3 year deal worth 6 million. Jabar can play the slot and can also start.

You sign 3-4 DE Igor Olshansky to a 4 year deal worth 14 million. Will play where Jackson started.

You also sign Jabari Greer to a 3 year deal worth 9.5 million. He will start opposite Flowers and move Car inside.

With Free Agency over you move too the draft.

Round 1 Aaron Curry OLB Wake Forest- he will be are main pass rusher opposite Hali.

Round 1 Trade for the Texans pick, we throw in Dorsey and Bowe. Josh Freeman QB K-State-He becomes the leader of our offense and our franchise quarterback.

Round 2 Max Unger OG/C Oregon- He will hold down the center's duties while Wade Smith plays right guard.

Round 3 Derrick Williams Penn State- He can return kicks and play the slot/starter at receiver.

Round 4 Sam Lee Hill Stillman- He rotates with Tank Tyler through the season.

Round 5 Javon Ringer Michigan State-Rotates with Charles.

Round 6 Jason McCourty Rutgers- adds depth to a depleted secondary

The rest of the draft his just basically camp cuts.

Training Camp Cuts

Larry Johnson,Ron Edwards.

The depth chart looks like this week 1 QB Freeman RB Charles FB Cox WR 1 Gaffeney 2 Williams 3 Darling

TE Gonzalez OT Albert,Smith OG Waters,Smith C Unger/ Defense DE Igor, Boone NT Sam Lee Hill/Tank Tyler

MLB Johnson,Williams

OLB Hali,Curry

CB Greer,Flowers,Carr/McCourty

FS Page

SS Pollard

K undrafted free agent

P Colquit

KR Derrick Williams

PR Gaffney

At the end of the season we finish 7-9 and miss the playoffs.

You decide our 09 season.

I blame this on the internet...

Other Arenas wish they could be like Arrowhead Stadium as it prepares to turn a new Page on Chiefs legacy. Rivals think they are going to be fine on an island of Flowers, but when they get hit by what feels like a Carr, they'll never be able to eat a Berry ever again.

K-Man: Manila isn't in Cuba. It's in the Philippines.

Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's really not a part of his family.

Thank God you aren't the GM. Jon Gruden has never coached defense.

He was OC in Philly before he went to the Raiders.

all those free agents got better deals if I remember right. Sammie Lee Hill would have been a good pick, but heinsight is 20/20.

Wow

Aaron Curry isnt a pass rushing specialist. In fact, that was hisn knock for being considered so high in the draft.

Tyler at NT?

Freeman is nobody’s answer at QB.

I think our team is better now.

from knowing the guy in college. Has all the tools, but the mental part of the game is where I think he’ll be limited

We should've signed all the best FA's like on Madden

Then we could have traded them off for the first 10 picks in the draft. It’s so easy being a GM, hell I’ve won like 7 or 8 Super-bowl’s.

OK now back to reality, i keep what we have and don’t look back at the “What if’s”. I didn’t like Haley, but he has turned into a good coach IMO, and i think the right man for the job.

by CPT.Caveman on Jun 7, 2010 11:41 PM CDT reply actions

ket's get thru an uneventful year with Haley first ...

… if he can keep his cool and let his shiny, new OC and DC do what they need to do without interfering, and dispense with his depth chart changes on a weekly basis, and let the team mature without massive changes and provide a positive, stable leadership … THEN he’s turned into a good coach

Doresy and Bowe for Josh Freeman?

come on now. I wanted Aaron Curry but he’s an Inside Linebacker in our defense, not a pass rusher. All I have to say is even though Tyson Jackson still throws me off a little, it was all worth it now that we have Berry

by DBOWESHOW on Jun 8, 2010 12:57 AM CDT reply actions

You interview Jon Gruden for DC?

My long, drawn-out predictions that no one cares about, nor will bother to remember:

1. Todd Haley will still be the Chiefs Head Coach up to the 2011 season.
2. Clancy Pendergast won't make it to the 2010 season and was never intended to. Last-minute hire for a position that needed to be filled.
3. Todd Haley will not be the OC at the start of the 2010 season.

I’ll stick with our current team and city. Because the Chiefs would be kicked out of KC for those kind of moves.
