Eric Berry headed back to Tennessee to break ground on UT's $1.5 million Research Center for Safer Athletic Fields.
It's amazing how far you come in just a year. Last year, Berry was a student. This year, he's posing with UT educational elites for the ground breaking of a new research center.
While in town, he also stopped at a golf tournament in the area and spoke to the media for a few minutes. He talked about being in the NFL and the young Emmitt Thomas.
I'm very excited about [being in the NFL]. The stuff prior to the draft, that was stuff I wasn't accustomed to. Now, I'm just excited getting back to playing football. I'm very familiar with that. It's good to get on the field and the weight room, conditioning and stuff like that. So, I'm excited about the season.
My defensive backs coach is Emmitt Thomas, he's a Hall of Famer. What more can I say about that? I've been blessed to have great coaches throughout my career. He adds on even more. He brings a lot to the table, a lot of knowledge. He's easy to relate to. He's an older guy but he's kinda young and keep up with the trends.
