Amani Toomer Still Bitter About Being Cut By The Chiefs
At 34 years old, his skills dwindling and without a home in August, Amani Toomer felt he had something to offer the Chiefs when he signed with them. At the time, he said he was excited to show folks that he could still play.
The Chiefs apparently disagreed releasing him before the season. He said last November that he felt going to Kansas City was a mistake (the Chiefs probably agree).
"I feel like it was a mistake going to Kansas City," Toomer told Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com. "I played 13 years in a great organization like the Giants. I was in a preseason game with Kansas City and it felt like it wasn't pro football to me. It kind of made it easy for me (to walk away)."
Today, nearly a year after being released, Toomer said going from New York to Kansas City was like "going from the varsity to junior varsity."
Sigh.
Being bitter about his former teams is nothing new for Toomer considering he ripped the Giants after leaving them last year.

It's easy to cry & talk shit when you're unemployed
So he went from Varsity, to JV….to reliving his “glory days” on tape since he has nothing now. He & Terrell Owens should get together & have drinks.

Sour Grapes...
But the team he saw and practiced with in Kansas City for that short time ended up 4-12….so if last years team formed his opinion of the franchise…then yeah we are a junior varsity team I guess. Hopefully for not too much longer.

"Made it easy for me to walk away"?
Not feeling like pro football isn’t what made it easy to walk away. Being cut by a team and having no other options is what made it easy. Don’t you think it speaks volumes that a WR that is “beloved” by NYG fans was just cut from the team? He wasn’t even given the role of 4th or 5th WR, he was just cut. Thanks Amani! You and the other aging receivers the chiefs brought in last year was for practice purposes, you had no real shot of making the team.
I have a joke for everyone:
Amani Toomer!
What an idiot…

Football Prodigy: Eric Berry

The Manimal: Tamba Hali

Our New Kansas City Chiefs!
Wow. Is he really saying what I think he is saying?
Did he have an opportunity to play here and decide against it? Oh, snap! As the player you don’t make that decision. The team does. So by disparaging us as Junior Varsity, isn’t he really saying that he couldn’t make it on a JV team?
Somebody needs to tell him that words mean things.
It's not a toomer!!!
Kindergarten Cop yo!!!
Other Arenas wish they could be like Arrowhead Stadium as it prepares to turn a new Page on Chiefs legacy. Rivals think they are going to be fine on an island of Flowers, but when they get hit by what feels like a Carr, they'll never be able to eat a Berry ever again.

My favorite Toomer highlight
was the post route he ran in pre-season which he never returned from. They literally had to hold up the next down so he could get his old & out-of-shape ass on our side of the line of scrimmage just to hike the ball. Put a fork in it Amani. You’re done.

I never had anything against the guy
but come on give it a rest already you were a decent wide reciever that played past your prime why the need to keep talking still Ive lost all of what little respect I had for the guy to begin with just shut up and go away or join a analyst crew
Toomer is bum and is pissed he cant do it anymore
I was excited when he came to KC last year but Im so glad hes jobless now
This dude was never a REAL Chief anyway...
We gave him a shot when no one else would. And I mean no one. He couldn’t make our “JV” team. And this is how he repays us…by running his mouth?
Fuck him.
10 + wins in 2010. Chiefs SHOCK the NFL!!! Mark it down.

Chris could of went to a team that went to the playoffs last year and decided to keep it here in KC
yeah he never had an Arrowhead on his helmet
another reason why I like that they dont just give them away at camp. Screw this guy
Are we the team to beat in 2010? I sure think so! Go Chiefs.
Whats that say about him?
he couldnt make a team that was terrible. Maybe its cause there wasnt a bunch of thugs shooting themselfs in the legs.

Toomer is just pissed that when the Chiefs cut him he didn't get the same treatment that Zach Thomas got.

He also had this to say:
"When I was with the Chiefs, I don’t know if I was really into it,"
Wow. It’s a real wonder why this guy was cut.
My God
Shut the f*ck up already. What a bitter guy.

Toomer no longer bitter towards old team
I love the story’s headline. Now he’s bitter towards a team he “wasn’t into.” It’s tough to get old in the NFL and be cast aside, and Amani has generally been a class act throughout his career, so I’ll give him a pass at his “bitterness” towards us, and am just glad that fossils like him and Engram, and Goff, and Zach Thomas, that can’t play anymore aren’t part of our equation going forward.

I was excited when he came to KC last year but Im so glad hes jobless now
and the one comment I ever find me making on Toomer
except comparing a deal for Holt could be like Toomers deal…The day I made the comment as well was a training camp update and it was mentioned that Toomer continued to the teams standout WR and Todd Haley was praising him. Who wouldnt be excited? Doesnt mean Im still a fan
hey tomahawk44
