A Bobby Sippio Sighting
In the same week the Chiefs sign a player highly regarded in the CFL, we find out what a former Chief from the AFL is up to.
Yes, Bobby Sippio, 2007's training camp phenom. (Editor's Note: Phenom?)
You didn't think I'd let a Bobby Sippio sighting go by without mentioning it, did you?
The Orlando
Predators are proud to announce today the signing of wide receiver Bobby Sippio. Sippio is widely considered the best Arena Football player in the game today having been named First Team All-Arena in his last season of Arena Football.
OK, so he didn't really re-surface in the NFL but he did bounce around the league for a while over the past couple years. Chiefs fans remember him because he came to Kansas City after catching -- get this -- 53 (!) touchdowns in 2007.
After the Sippio experiment, I think the expectations (in the fans' eyes) won't be as high for Cory Greenwood.

yeah, shows what you know, Sippio=best WR in NFL history
funny thing is, everyone pointed to bowe’s drops, and sippio being this amazing WR..unfortunately one of those 2 is still true…and that would be pointing to bowe’s drops
Team Pioli/Haley

I dunno, I don’t really see the comparison. I don’t have huge expectations of Greenwood, but it really doesn’t have anything to with the Sippio experiment.

Greenwood is going to be a pro bowler
then again, I think all Chiefs should be pro bowlers and we should be winning the super bowl. I don’t think that’s asking for to much?
Insert witty yet thought provoking phrase here.
SIP-PI-O! SIP-PI-O! Sip….Pi….OOOOOOOHHHHHHH!

My long, drawn-out predictions that no one cares about, nor will bother to remember:
1. Todd Haley will still be the Chiefs Head Coach up to the 2011 season.
2. Clancy Pendergast won't make it to the 2010 season and was never intended to. Last-minute hire for a position that needed to be filled.
3. Todd Haley will not be the OC at the start of the 2010 season.
win!
Other Arenas wish they could be like Arrowhead Stadium as it prepares to turn a new Page on Chiefs legacy. Rivals think they are going to be fine on a island of Flowers, but when they get hit by what feels like a Carr, they'll never be able to eat a Berry ever again.
Teicher vs. Fans
I remember some fans getting angry at Teicher because they thought Sippio was a beast at WR

I have a lot higher hopes for C. Greenwood than I ever did for Sippio
Sippio was a product of Hard Knocks. C. Greenwood’s sounds like a hard worker, team captain, good size, speed, agility, etc. Something the Chiefs are looking for in their players
i agree
He also plays a position that doesn’t really lend itself to huge over exaggerated stats. A WR may looks amazing when he plays against inferior competition. Greenwood’s athleticism is on par with some top picks, and he played very well against mediocre competition. Whereas Bobby didn’t have any measureables and played against arena (not even real football) competition.
I expect Cory to contribute immediately on special teams.
