I have yet to see the newest full mock draft by Kiper and McShay, but both have their thoughts on who the Chiefs should draft... and they differ.
After the skip is the article. My question is, who do you believe?
Kansas City, No. 5
Kiper’s pick: Eric Berry, Tennessee, safety
McShay’s pick: Bryan Bulaga, Iowa, tackle
My thoughts: I think I’d go with Berry here. Both experts have Oklahoma State tackle Russell Okung going to Washington at No. 4. If that’s the case, I’d take Berry and address the tackle position with one of the Chiefs’ two second-round picks.
I personally have heard many negative things about Todd McShay. Apparently a lot of scouts and people in the NFL think he is a stuck up analyst and then tend to not side with him. However, this is his job and he must know something about players and so forth. At least I hope... thats whathe is getting paid to do.
I agree with Bill Williamson here (of course). If Okung is there at #5, which he could be... it would be tempting to get Okung. I still don't like that idea, but it coudl happen. Drafting Bulaga would be drafting a RT. Would that be an upgrade at RT? Possibly... not for sure though. In this situation, Berry would be the better pick for KC.
(Side note: both had Eric Berry going to KC in their last mock -- looks like McShay has fallen into the Bulaga hype).
