The Meaning of Character

Character can be described in many different ways and for the Chiefs they have decided that it is a top priority. I may be beating a dead horse here but I think it is something that this city has been lacking for quite some time.

If you look back at the 03' team its hard to find a player who you would consider a cancer. We were lead by a quarterback who didn't yell at fans aka Phillip Rivers, a running back who went undrafted and then was signed by a team who really didn't appreciate him.

Now if you look across the parking lot at our beloved Royals they have no character. They instead have to deal with the likes of Jose Guillen. The Royals have no leader. I for one am glad that this organization has decided not to judge a player by just his talent, but by how the player carries himself off the field as well.

At some point they may decide to bring in a player like a Randy Moss but until we have a core of character to control the bad character we will continue to draft players like Dexter McCluster instead of a Terrence Cody.

We will rise again and take control of the AFC West. Even if this team is a disapointment in 2010 I will be proud to call myself a Chiefs fan because we are finally doing things the right way.

"Everyone tries to define this things called character. It's not hard. Character is doing what's right when nobody's looking."

No one else may be looking at the Chiefs, but we are finally doing the right thing.
