The draft has come and gone. While I feel that we had a stellar draft this year, I chose today as a day to talk about the rest of the AFC West and how they drafted. Today Im going to cover each player drafted by the Broncos, Chargers, and Raiders. These are guys that we are going to see twice a year, for several years coming. Now some wont make it out of camp just like with some of our draft picks, but the majority of these guys we are going to be facing for years to come.

After the jump im going to give the breakdown in draft order, and who I feel we should keep an eye on as Chiefs fans.

Denver Broncos

  • 1. Demaryius Thomas WR Georgia Tech
  • 2. Tim Tebow QB Florida
  • 3. Zane Beadles OG Utah
  • 4. JD Walton OC Baylor
  • 5. Eric Decker WR Minnesota
  • 6. Perrish Cox CB Oklahoma State
  • 7. Eric Olsen OC Notre Dame
  • 8. Syd'Quan Thompson CB California
  • 9. Jammie Kirlew DE Indiana

Denver is probably the team that surprised me the most on Day one of the draft. Thomas is going to be a good WR, and everyone is still out on the Tebow pick. While I hope that Tebow does good just to show everyone how wrong they were I really wish it wasnt with Denver. Even though they got rid of Marshall, and Scheffler are we not going to witness more drama in Denver this year? I mean they brought in Brady Quinn to compete with Orton and now draft Tebow in the first round? Who knows what is going to happen in Denver but I bet McDaniels has his coaching career riding on this years draft class.

Oakland Raiders

  • 1. Rolando McClain ILB Alabama
  • 2. Lamarr Houston DT Texas
  • 3. Edwin Veldheer OT Hillsdale
  • 4. Bruce Campbell OT Maryland
  • 5. Jacoby Ford WR Clemson
  • 6. Walter McFadden CB Auburn
  • 7. Travis Goethel ILB Arizona State
  • 8. Jeremy Ware CB Michigan State
  • 9. Steven Brown S Michigan

There is no reason for me to cover McClain anymore. Anyone who followed AP leading up to the draft knows alot about him, and for good reason, he is now our enemy. The picks that im going to keep an eye on are the two OT's Veldheer, and Campbell. To me it seems Oakland is trying to get that line fixed up and throw in Jacoby Ford at the WR position along with Jason Campbell we are going to see a more competitive Oakland squad take the field next year.

San Diego Chargers

  • 1. Ryan Matthews RB Fresno State
  • 2. Donald Butler ILB Washington
  • 3. Darrell Stuckey S Kansas
  • 4. Cam Thomas DT North Carolina
  • 5. Jonathan Crompton QB Tennessee
  • 6. Dedrick Epps TE Miami

Now I know everyone wants to call Ryan Matthews the next LT. I just dont see it happening. Yes Matthews is a powerful downhill runner, but LT is LT. How many years has Alex Gordon been called the next George Brett? With all that is me I hope this draft class from San Diego falters. I hope SD's days on top of the AFC West are numbered. Last year they owned us and looking at this draft class, I think Butler could contribute immediately and be a name for Chiefs fans to keep their eyes on.

Well there you have it AP, each and every player drafted in 2010 by our enemies in the AFC West.

I still feel through my Chief colored glasses that we had the best draft out of every team in the AFC West. We wont know for sure until the season starts whom is going to start for each of our enemies in the West. But im sure out of this crop one is going to be a player that is going to make us mad. One is going to be a stud. One is going to be alright, and one is going to bust.
