2010 NFL Draft: What's The First Thing Eric Berry Will Do With His Money?

So you're selected 5th in the 2010 NFL draft. In a few months, you'll sign a contract that will guarantee you in the neighborhood of $25 million. A signing bonus will be attached. You'll be a 22 or 23 year old with more money than 99% of the world can ever dream about.

What's the first thing you're going to buy?

Well, as Jason Whitlock pointed out yesterday, Gerald McCoy walked into Radio City Music Hall wearing $100,000 in jewelry (Whitlock's estimation, not mine) while Eric Berry was busy planning to buy....

Well, the newest Camaro of course.

"I just really want to get the 2010 Camaro," the newest Chief Eric Berry told reporters last night. "I love Chevy. That’ll be the first thing [I buy] maybe."

"Camarohead" has been re-defined. To be fair, Mr. Berry said he's already taken care of his Mom buying her a car.

The next move?

Finding a "nice comfortable" home in Kansas City, which shouldn't be hard since Kansas City itself is nice and comfortable.

"I’ll be done with all that and be on to training camp."

Good start, Mr. Berry.

Or if you get your wish and they draft Blount, you could rename yourself BlountForceTrauma. BFT.

And I will rename myself BigRedAngryChief. ( ;

Thanks to Pioli the children will go hungry without Dez Bryant.
Honestly, Dez couldn't have gone to a worse team.... Fudging Cowboys.
Eric Berry is an excellent addition to the Chiefs.

Amen Brother!

The more I learn about him, the humbler he seems. I really like the pick and the player. Great job, Scott, Todd & Romeo!

I love that he said that he was focused on getting a deal done so he wouldnt miss a second of training camp.

Great kid.

To make a bad day worse, spend it wishing for the impossible.

I've had the same dream every night this week. I think it means that the spring season flopped and my subconscious has gone into reruns.

Hey! Stop what you're doin' cause I'm about to ruin the rythm and the style that you're used to...

Somebody pinch me!

This is so awesome having Berry! Chiefs got it right. On the mothership they have a video Clark and Pioli talking with Berry before he went up on stage, very cool. Pioli is so smooth, professional and all about the business of winning! Berry is going to lay some wood, can’t wait. Now for Cody and Tate (2a, 2b). Can’t wait for the home opener against SD, it’s on boys!

"Chiefs will go 9-7 in 2010"!
"Defense will improve to #10-15 in total defense"
"Cassel will throw 23 TDs and 11 INT's"
"Chief games will begin to sell out by week 4"
"The road to respectibility starts and ends in 2010"

by casselreadychiefs on Apr 23, 2010 9:17 AM CDT reply actions

Cody = Don't want.

You don’t come in, preaching to your guys that they have to be in shape and lose weight or they don’t even get to practice with the rest of the team, and then take the guy who was so fat and out of shape coming into the biggest job interview of his entire life (the NFL Combine) that he couldn’t do what he needed to do.

We take this kid and he’s going to spend the first four weeks of training camp in a black trashbag running in circles off to the side trying to get down to a decent weight instead of practicing with the team and learning the defense.

Get Lindval Joseph. Get Cam Thomas. Get Torrell Troup. Leave lard-ass Cody to be someone else’s headache.

This kid is money, and now he HAS money

Earl Thomas said in an interview that the big reason he left after his sophomore year was because his family doesn’t have a house, as their old one was destroyed in the hurricane. It’s really nice to see guys like Earl and Eric get a little bit of cash to indulge in a few things, as long as they don’t do idiotic things like blowing it all on bling and guns right away.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

Yep.

And you should always invest in at least one M1 carbine and a couple hundred rounds of ammo for protection when the zombies rise.

And I prefer a springfield .45 for close quarters.

The tactical model, if I were to ever run out of ammo (not likely) I could beat somebody with it!

Cry Havoc! And let slip the Chiefs Defense of War!!!

by nateforchiefs on Apr 23, 2010 9:35 AM CDT up reply actions

I prefer the Ruger SP101

pistol for close quarters. I am kind of curious about the Taurus “Judge” which of course fires .410 shot gun shells as well as .45 bullets.

I've heard good things about the Glock 27.

Small enough to palm, but packs the stopping power of larger pistols. If you’re close quarters, use an aluminum bat or a trench shovel.

Handles like a pig

The G 27 is my concealed pistol, its a little pocket rocket, and not very accurate.

I've been planning on an AR15

I never failed to qualify as “expert” on the M16A2 or the M249, so failing the availability of the M249, I’m planning on a full-size AR15 once I get my cabin.

Camaro is now made by your federal government

I’ll rock a Ford instead. Ford has been consistently improving their quality for years and manages their finances better than GM (the Greece of the auto industry).

...And as the roar of 80,000 red-clad great plains warriors fills the hallowed halls of Arrowhead, it will strike fear into the hearts of lesser men. For on that field, individual men toil for something greater than individual honors. They toil as brothers-in-arms, as 53 spirits striving towards a single purpose and driven by a single goal: The glory that comes with vanquishing your foes. They will achieve their birthright, they will be champions.

Well

I think of Cody, just like Tebow. Everybody is bashing them both except for the people whos jobs depend in picking players. Cody at whatever weight will be in the NFL for 10+ years. There are a number of examples of fat Pro Bowl Type guys playing NT in the 3-4.
If we finish day two with these guys,, then we are knocking on the door in 2010 and gonna kick the dam thing down in 2011.
