The best thing about the arrival of the NFL Network a few years ago was the competition it gave ESPN during the draft. Both networks have to be on their toes or we'll all just switch channels.
Both networks have strengths (Mel's hair vs Rich Eisen's jokes) and weaknesses (Steve Young rambling on about nothing vs Deion Sanders creating new words for the English language whenever the mood strikes him)
Let's look at the lineups.
Round 1 Network Lineups:
ESPN
- Radio City broadcast team: Chris Berman, Tom Jackson, Jon Gruden, Mel Kiper Jr., Steve Young
- Back Stage Crew: Adam Shefter, Chris Mortensen
- Green Room correspondant: Suzy Kolber
- Bristol broadcast: Todd McShay
NFL Network
- Radio City broadcast team: Mike Mayock, Rocj Eisen, Marshall Faulk, Michael Irvin, Jason La Canfora, Steve Mariucci
- Probable rotating contributors: Deion Sanders, Matt Millen, Rod Woodson, Jamie Dukes, Chrales Davis, Brian Baldinger, Solomon Wilcots, Joe Theisman, Fran Charles, Michael Lombardi, Michelle Beisner
- War Room Coverage: NFL Network will also provide live reports from the Draft War rooms for the Atlanta, Dallas, Green Bay, St Louis, San Francisco and Seattle.
So AP'ers, who will fill the majority of the endless hours of draft chat pouring from your TV?
