2008 draft again?
I'm starting to think that this years draft is going to be similiar to the 2008 draft. In 2008 we got Glenn Dorsey, Branden Albert, Jamaal Charles and Brandon Flowers. Those four look like they could all become very good players in the NFL. In 2008 the chiefs had 3 of the first 50 picks. In 2010, the chiefs will again have 3 of the first 50.
In 2008, Glenn Dorsey, a DT, was considered one of the top prospects of the draft and some thought he could even go number 1. When he fell to the chiefs pick at number 5 it was considered a steal for the chiefs, In 2010 another DT, Ndamukong Suh is amongst the top 5 prospects if not number 1. But small ripples are now making it possible that he could fall all the way to the chiefs at number 5, with some saying that if he does, the chiefs cannot pass up on him. De ja vu? Could the same thing in 2008 happen again in 2010. In my opinion, I'm starting to think that it is almost certain that Suh will fall to the chiefs. My reasoning is:
1) St Louis. With no FA QB's to pick from and no starting caliber QBs on the roster, the Rams have to take Bradford or Clausen.
2) Detroit. Matt Stafford was out too much last year due to the beating's he took thanks to his woeful offensive line. They have to take Okung or Stafford will never make it.
3) Tampa Bay. They need a DT. However Gerald McCoy is only a little less talented than Suh and fits their system better
4) Washington. They've got Donavon McNabb. They lost Chris Samuels. The Offensive line was horrible with Samuels. The only option is OT
Wether or not the chiefs take him, that i'm not so sure about. What do you think AP. Will Suh be their and if so, will we take him?

I believe you're off on #2
… my opinion is that Detroit will, indeed, take Suh (unless they get a trade offer they can’t refuse) … the vast majority of Detroit fans want Suh … head and tails above anyone else available (and this is a team that gave up over 4k yards in the air last year … they need a guy like Berry in the Secondary more than the Chiefs do) and yet … yet … nearly 90% of their fanbase will tell you they want Suh
I know, I did the poll on it for the AP Mock Draft

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
Well their OC came out at the end of last season and said he "really liked how Jeff Backus played"
Mt Cody will be the chiefs pick.
Chiefs trade down with philly for 24th and 37th for the 5th
24th Terrence Cody NT, 36th Nate Allen S, 37th Jerry Hughes OLB, 50th Vladimeer Ducasse OT, 68th Brandon Spikes ILB, 102nd Eric Olsen C, 136th Darrel Stuckey S, 142nd Anthony McCoy TE, 146th John Connor FB

They feel like their tackles played at a probowl level last year...

Backus really needs to move in to guard, IMO
He’s been suffering from physical issues that make that so much more sensible, and at this point, his feet would be more suitable for that position.
There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

Yeah I agree but they also just brought in a guard as well
to keep Backus at tackle.

It's my view
That Detroit MUST go Okung. Matt Stafford has a lot of talent and has a talented WR to work with. but he needs to be protected. That is my view, whether or not they take that path, well we’ll find out in under 24 hours. It seems like an eternity away. BTW, who’s your pick at the chiefs at 5. Are you a Berry fanatic like the rest of AP?

Oddly enough, Pro Football Focus said that the Lions offensive line actually did decently in pass protection.
Middle of the pack, I think, but they indicated that a lot of the problems the Lions had came from tight ends and the left guard spots, if I recall correctly. Their analysis said that Backus actually had a good year in pass protection.
I was surprised, but I could believe it.
If this draft were to shape up to be as good as 2008...
I’d pretty damn happy.
Hey man what's up.
I have a question for anyone really, what time does the draft start? The reason i ask is, because i don’t have regular tv, everything i watch is on the computer. Please help me out, i would hate to sleep thru our first pick.
Sleep through the 1st pick?
where do you live? Draft will be on 7:30 AM friday morning here. I’ll also be looking place to watch it online, the Superbowl was on TV here but I don’t think I’m going to get the love for the draft.
