What could it be? Sheer talent? NFL scheme in College? Size? Speed? Upside? Heart? Work Ethic?
It's gotta be COACH-ABILITY. Think on it...most of the guys that get drafted will not start their first couple of years in the NFL. They simply aren't ready. They need to be coached up.
As a former position coach myself, the guys that were most valuable to me were the guys that I could explain a technique to once or twice, and who practiced that technique til they got it and used that teaching point or technique on the field during the very next game. Those were the players I found to be most valuable.
You can't teach coach-ability. A player who is coach-able also has heart, work ethic, and upside. A player can have all the talent in the world, but if he's not in the right place, or have good technique, he's not a valuable asset to the team.
Coach-ability is the key quality the Kansas City Chiefs want to look for when picking the "right 53". Top Quality to Consider
