Eric Berry Likes Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers
Over the last few weeks, Kansas City Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers has been working out with Tennessee S Eric Berry.
Why is this interesting?
Because of all the folks that want the Chiefs to take Berry with the fifth pick in the NFL Draft.
Of course, it doesn't mean they're going to draft him or anything like that but Berry seems to like Flowers, according to this Twitter account.
Had a great workout with @BFlowers24. You'd think he was a coach.
Not a bad thing to hear, right?
Flowers has said on Twitter account before that he likes Berry as well. Seems like a good match, no?

Pollard fan BALLard49? that makes us Pollard brothers!!!
Winning isnt a matter of life and death, its more important than that.
I guess that would have to be… Yes

I miss Bernie P so much...
If we still had Bernie we wouldn’t have to worry about picking up a strong safety. I’m pretty sure he picked off Peyton twice last year…and REGGIE WAAAAAAYNE. It’s cool though, ‘cause we have Mike Brown. He’s great at missing tackles and picking lines that make it impossible for him to try and make a tackle.

Not to sound like a broken record but...
http://kan.scout.com/2/926374.html
Worst Burned Rate: Out of the league’s safeties who have been targeted at least 33 times, the Houston Texans’ Bernard Pollard has been burned the most (72.2 percent).
Don’t knock Brown for getting burned when Pollard obviously was burned more last year…
by groundedchevy on Mar 9, 2010 3:30 PM CST up reply actions
I’d still take Pollard over Brown any day.
Besides, 63% of statistics are made up.

only in england
here in the us it’s more like 96%
Seriously mates, when have I ever been sarcastic?

NOT TO SOUND LIKE A BROKEN RECORD BUT...
Were you watching Mike Brown as i was? Stat Check. Im pretty sure BP had a way better year that Brown. Too bad there isnt a stat for missed tackles with a dumb look on your face. Miles Austin is the biggest Mike Brown fan in the World.
I don't disagree with you about Brown getting burned
Do you remember watching Pollard play for us? I think Brown can be a fine safety for us if our linebackers could help cover. Brown had to play up closer to help our poor linebacker group. In the same sense Pollard probably wouldn’t have been burned so much if he didn’t have to help our linebackers….

is this the only E. Berry picture on the web?
Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....
ktr17x likes Tennessee's S Eric Berry
While I probably wouldn’t choose him, I wouldn’t be upset at all if he did wind up here

I like it
and it seems like jarred page and flowers are pretty close……..I would really like to see this happen….especially if there can be a good group of continuity in the defensive backfield
i wonder if pioli has anything to do with them working out together…..and if he asked flowers to workout with him to learn a little more about the guy
If Berry is there at 5 I don't see anyway we could pass up on the guy.
It’s not like we are stacked at safety. Page is a good safety, but we have no one to play the other side, and surely no one that is as good as Berry. It fills a need, and he’ll be the best player available if he’s still there at 5. If we drafted someone else, I’d be majorly disappointed.
www.reverbnation.com/myfairweatherfriends
Which is why I don't get how so many Chiefs fans act like drafting Berry is a luxury pick
One friend of mine was like “Why would you draft Eric Berry?? We have Page, and McGraw.” This was a real comment made to me. I think Page will do well for us in the upcoming years, but he probably won’t hold a candle to Berry, and McGraw is like 100 years old, and he’s only adequate other than special teams.

Pioli and the trenches
I know he likes to build in the trenches, but stopping the passing game in a pass happy league is a must…. Berry is a very very unique player that I feel he has to break his ways for.
Man crush on Eric Berry.
Heres what Flowers said to Berry
@berry14 aye boi..good shit today….i aint go b ready for a few more weeks…when im healthy we gonna getit tho
Sweet
that would be one of the best DB combos out there.
also got the eric berry man crush. LOL
i usually see this in my dreams……
CB Carr, FS Paige, SS Berry, CB FLowers
Id rather see Berry at SS
So he can fly all over the field like Troy P. FS are kinda limited

I am a believer
I wanted a franchise LT for awhile, but if Haley believes in Albert than so do I. Berry would have such a huge impact and would be a huge upgrade at one of our more glaring holes. Sorry Mike Brown.
by TonyG88 on Mar 9, 2010 2:44 PM CST via mobile reply actions
Not so much
It’s not as DEEP as there is really no difference in the next 10 after Okung
I'm not a smart man
plus
im not sure okung is a garanteed franchise left tackles…..like guys such as thomas and long
I dont see us taking him
Not that I don’t want to. But Pioli seems to want to fix the lines first, and he does that in the first round. But he also hasn’t been in this position where a guy like Berry is available and he fits a big need for us. As long as its not a QB or WR, I’ll be excited about whoever it is. But I think the 2 2nd rounders are more important that the #5 pick.
1. Are they an upgrade over what we already have?
2. Do they have high football IQ?
3. Can they make a difference from Day 1?
4. Do they have a history of leadership?
5. Sign him up.
I see McClain at 5
might be a little bit of a stretch but we saw that Pioli is willing to take those risk
Good point
but not the McClain part. That Pioli will reach for a player… well people say you should never pick a Saftey so high… so let’s reach baby!
Man crush on Eric Berry.
sean taylor
was taking at 5….he was a probowler early in his career
I dont know
i think if they didnt tender DJ so high then that would be a good possibility……but i think crennel has a plan for DJ to play that ILB…….so now the problem is finding someone to pair with him(maybe mclain)…..maybe demorio(unlikely)….i hope its someone like spikes in the 2nd
i hope spikes in the second
but i have a feeling its going to be McClain, and im just fine with that as well.
Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....
I would say he goes
late in the 1st early in the second
someone has to drop
our 2a pick is going to be a 1st rounder that nobody thought would fall. I think it’ll be cody though, but I like Hughes. It’s too important to wait and hope he’s there at 2b
1. Are they an upgrade over what we already have?
2. Do they have high football IQ?

to us at 2a…..then spikes at 2b
that would simply be amazing
Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....
berry cody spikes would help

i like mcclain a lot and he was/is my first crush
but the more i find out about the other guys out there I’m alright no matter who we take. It’s a good thing picking this high when you have a lot of holes. Doens’t matter who gets taken before us – we will get a very good player. I’m 95% sure that Berry will be there at #5.

I wouldn't be upset with McClain really
but I just couldn’t possibly see Pioli skipping out on Berry if he’s there. Just can’t see it. The kid is a helluva player, apparently the second coming of Ed Reed (most experts seem to think this), and he’s a good kid. You couldn’t ask for more from a young player. And he fills a big need for us. So he matches all of the criteria you could be looking for as a GM on this team.

You're a goddamn quarterback! You know what that means? It's the top spot, kid. It's the guy who takes the fall. It's the guy everybody's looking at first - the leader of a team - who will support you when they understand you. Who will break their ribs and their noses and their necks for you, because they believe. 'Cause you make them believe. That's a quarterback.

This is true
If they go 1-2, Tampa will take Berry.. Which will throw me into a depression, but I suppose that scenario has a good chance of happening. Let’s hope that St. Louis feels like they HAVE to have a QB if they are going to pay all that money to the first pick in the draft.

Unless Bradford's arm falls off during his pro day ....
the Rams are going to take him. They signed Feely as a stop gap, and they’ll be letting Bulger go soon. They aren’t going to be willing to give up draft picks for a guy like Vick. All of their moves and talk right now would lead you to believe that they will select Bradford assuming he doesn’t bomb his pro day.

me. I’ve been all for a LT with our 5th. But hearing that Berry likes Flowers is good. Means he’d work with them and they’d have good chemistry. I think chemistry is very underrated and I think it’s one of the most important aspects of football and goes with Pioli’s right 53. So seeing that there’s potential for great team chemistry between flowers and berry is great. sure would be a nice addition. hope he falls to us

you would have to think there close on something especially if he was still here today…..i guess we dont know when he got in but the longer hes here the better chance i think
A drafting of Eric Berry
would greatly increase my optimism for this team. Overall, I think we got a lot of great options at 5, but my money is with Berry if hes available
I don't want no Yo-Yos
You know its gonna be an off the wall pick...
and im tryin not to get my hopes up, but its so hard when he makes so much sense. We will prolly get Bulaga…. what an ugly name :( lol

I watched
Kam at the combine. Looked great. He moved a lot smoother than the other safeties. But definately not a talent like Berry.
Please no not Bulaga
I’m sure he’s great, and a really safe pick, but not top 5, not a game changer like Berry could be

Aaron Curry was the best MLB last year, but Eric Berry is on a whole different level then Aaron Curry in my opinion. Curry wouldn’t be ahead of McClain in this years draft. Berry is top in any draft year.

but Curry was projected to be great in a 4-3 instead of 3-4
which is why I reason with myself that we passed on him for TJ.

Eric Berry was my first love but some AP’er introduced me to Ro’ and he stole my heart away.
So Berry….but you will always be my first.

As long as the first pick brings what this team needs I don't care
I’d still like to trade down, but if not, I’m all for Berry! Okung! Go to your room!
Thomas Jones and the Lombardi, DO IT!
Man
This guy is my favorite. I’ll admit I suffer a big man-crush for him. I hope we take him. All the same, I’d be ok if we took one of the other top prospects out there. I certainly won’t jump off a cliff if we don’t ;)

Is this an anomaly on nfl.com by Mayok ????
I read (here) Earl Thomas is most likely a 3rounder so I’m wondering what this anomaly means. Anyone have some “inside” info about him … and is it possible that berry is overhyped ? I haven’t seen any of them play so really I have no clue :)

Berry and Flowers - had a natural ring to it
He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is
how about morgan
djaun morgan should have been the starting ss last year instead of brown and add in donald washington and we have more talent in the secondary then alot of people realize.as far as brandon carr is concerned his last game when he went to a meltdown after the pass interferance call was playing very well the last 5 or 6 games before, not counting how well he played as a rookie last year.cannot wait to see how well he takes to emmit thomas….
