We've been debating the whole draft/free agency concept a lot over the past 3 or 4 days, but I found something today of interest. I read a quote on Yahoo Sports from Emmitt Smith in which Smith explains why he so much enjoyed beating the Dan Snyder owned Washington Redskins:
"I loved defeating the Redskins," said Smith. "I loved it, I loved it, I loved it with a passion. And I loved it more when Daniel Snyder got the team, for a number of reasons. I did. Because here is a guy who thought he could build a football team just because he has the money to buy players. There's more to it than that."
Despite being on a team I hate for most of his career and being in one of the most completely horrible television commercials of all time (that Just for Men spot where Emmitt is in the old folks home--I hope he got paid a lot of money for that one), I think he's right about this.
