Inside Arrowhead - Draft Board

Let me start off by saying... THIS IS NOT A MOCK DRAFT!!

So if you walked into the "War Room" and you just hap pend to take a little looksy up at the board on the wall that says "Draft Board 2010"... What would you see in the Top 10?

Here is what I think I would see... ( I hope )

                                                                                        Draft Board 2010

1.  N. Suh - Nose Tackle

Star-divide

2.  E. Berry - Saftey

3.  R. McClain - Inside Linebacker

4.  G. McCoy - Nose Tackle

5.  R. Okung - Left Tackle

6.  B. Bulaga - O Line

7.  B. Price - Nose Tackle

8.  B. Graham - Linebacker

9.  D. Williams - Nose Tackle

10. D. McCourty - Cornerback

Now I love Eric Berry more then anyone here, but I think Pioli would rather have Suh first...

Feel free to make your list longer then 10.  But wouldn't it be nice to know where these guys are on their Draft Board?!?!  If anyone can score a photo of that, AP nation would greatly applaud you for that.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

if anyone can score a picture of the Chiefs draft board

and they post it on here they need to immediately be placed in protective services. You think the Don is going to let something like that fly? Tinted windowed SUV’s and gruff men with suits will take care of you quickly.

Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....

we need

yea seriousy i would like to see the O-line addressed sometime this offseason. Even if we get some badass tackle with our 5th pick, we still need to upgrade our depth and possible starters. I’de rather our get our O-linemen through FA, because I hear this is a heavy draft for Defense and RB.

SwimCoach you think they like McCourty over Haden?

I know Haden had a slow 40 at the combine, but he is still one of the best cover guys this year. I even like Wilson better than McCourty but that’s just me.

by Helmets on Mar 8, 2010 3:30 PM CST reply actions

yes i do.

Man crush on Eric Berry.

by SwimCoach on Mar 8, 2010 6:49 PM CST up reply actions

I would think D Williams would be right behind Berry

I love McClain, but getting a FA NT was much more difficult than all of us “experts” thought it would be. I also think Haden is still up there. I could care less what his 40-time said. The guy can play.

1. Are they an upgrade over what we already have?
2. Do they have high football IQ?
3. Can they make a difference from Day 1?
4. Do they have a history of leadership?
5. Sign him up.

Take out Suh and McCoy and youre getting somewhere.

Im sorry but you cant expect us to take this seriously when you have Suh and McCoy listed as nose tackles. Do your homework. Suh and McCoy are what Glenn Dorsey is coming out in this years draft. DE’s in a 3-4 system at best.

by KC_MO on Mar 8, 2010 3:41 PM CST reply actions

its been debated here that Suh could play NT

1. Are they an upgrade over what we already have?

I won't be surprised a bit if we end up with Suh somehow

Wrong

Suh could hold his own in the middle of a 3-4

by MatthiasHyannis on Mar 8, 2010 3:51 PM CST up reply actions

Wrong

Stop kidding yourselves. Suh is what Dorsey was coming out of college. Dorsey did the exact same things as Suh, you just remember Suh because of his big game against Texas and because he’s from the Big 12. It was impressive but you have to remember that it was in college not the NFL. His best fit is as a 4-3 DT, ha thats what he played at for Nebraska. He’s a 3-4 DE because his frame lacks the weight required to plug the middle, I’m talking around 330 lbs for a successful NT in the NFL.

Its funny that its even an issue because Suh won’t be available by the 5th pick.

by KC_MO on Mar 8, 2010 4:05 PM CST up reply actions

there have been dozens of posts regarding Suh playing NT

Dorsey and Suh are the not the same player because they were both dominant DT in college. Their skill sets are different and I have a hard time believing that Suh could not be effective anywhere. That man is a DUDE. And I just said we may end up with Suh if Pioli wants him, doesn’t mean its the 5th pick.

by BJ Kissel on Mar 8, 2010 4:11 PM CST up reply actions

haha

I’m glad that “a dozen posts” and that fact that he’s a “DUDE” have convinced you that he can play NT in the NFL haha. I highly doubt, in fact I’d be willing to bet that Pioli is not going to go after Suh….meaning if hes not around at the 5th pick, we’re not going to trade up for him. The whole idea of the draft is to collect talent not draft one guy. This team needs help at multiple positions. IF anything, Pioli would try to trade down to get us MORE draft picks….for more talent….which in turn fills the holes on this team. He’s been saying the “right 53” not the DUDE of the draft class haha.

by KC_MO on Mar 8, 2010 4:35 PM CST up reply actions

nt in 43?

and we dont know what pioli thinks. You don’t think he’d be good here. Alright, we can move on. I don’t pretend to be an expert. Suh was a man amongst boys, thats all I’m saying.

You are just one opinion and so am I. But you tell me that i am convinced because I read a lot of posts, and then you post a “post” that backs you up. That doesnt make sense. I doubt you’re a scout or personnel man, so you are just as likely to be right as the people who form your opinion.

1. Are they an upgrade over what we already have?

Im tired of the Chiefs sucking.

You’re right for once ha…kinda. It is just my opinion but when I back it up with a “post” from a scouting source it makes my opinion more creditable. All I am trying to get across is that Im tired of the Chiefs sucking.

No I don’t think Suh would be good here, not saying he’s not going to be a good football player. Id rather draft someone who would fit the system and fill a need rather than draft another DE in a two gap, 3-4 system. Eric Berry or Rolando McClain would be likely choices because they fill a need and fit the system. Much like Tyson Jackson last year. When Pioli says “right 53” I doubt he means the best players in the league, I think he means the players that will work best in his system.

Stop using your man amongst boys comparison. Reggie Bush was “a DUDE” in college, a man amongst boys. He’s not even a starting running back in the NFL and has had little success as a running back for the 2nd overall pick.

by KC_MO on Mar 8, 2010 5:19 PM CST up reply actions

you're right. none of us like when the chiefs are bad

Suh threw guys around and made plays when he was double teamed. Thats what i meant by “Dude”.

I was pushing for McClain before the BCS game. We’re gonna get a good player and since we didnt find a FA NT. I think we’ll go with Dan Williams, because it fits Pioli’s history. but I won’t be at all upset if we ended up with Suh. We could find a way to use him that makes our team better.

big board? dunno Swim, this looks like your "Top 10 Wish List" of players you would like to see drafted

not that there’s anything wrong with voicing your opinion, that’s what we do here … I personally doubt that your list is the same as Pioli’s … I’d be stunned, actually

I can safely and honestly say it isn’t the same as mine … and so it goes

I doubt anybody has McClain over McCoy and Okung.

Count me as someone who thinks Suh can play the nose in a 3-4.

Mark it Donny.

Suh and McCoy don't fit our defense.

I’m pretty sure that Pioli will not/will not be able to draft either of those guys and that Berry or McClain will be taken with the 5 if it’s not traded away.

by skunk420 on Mar 8, 2010 5:56 PM CST reply actions

Suh...

can play a 5 technique DE. He plays a 2-gap in college for god sakes and he is listed at 6’4", 305 lbs. Thats a typical 3-4 DE if you ask me. If Suh falls to us we should play him at end and deal Dorsey for more picks. Suh would be able to play the run just as good as Dorsey with the added ability to bat down passes and rush the passer.

Draft prediction top 10 - 1. Bradford 2. Suh (Chiefs trade up) 3. McCoy 4. Claussen (trade Campbell to Carolina, trade for J Brown) 5. Okung (Detroit) 6. Berry 7. Haden 8. Campbell 9. Davis (Bills trade for Vick) 10. Morgan (Jags draft Tebow in 2nd round) 2/23/09 --> This will probably not happen, I was smoking crack at the time. Please Disregard.

How many of you here think Suh could play NT if he dropped to us at 5 (by some miracle)

I think he’s got the strength to command two blockers.. Not sure if that’s enough for NT’s

suh would have a spot on our team

I dont know all the ins and outs of all the different versions of the 3/4, and which NT’s have what responsibilities. But he is a smart, tough, blue-collar football player.

I sure do

People get too caught up with the fact that he only weighs 307. Well Jason Ferguson is just 310. Besides, Suh is stronger than most 330 nose tackles with the added bonus of having great hand and footwork. Oh, and Suh played nose tackle his junior year at Nebraska quite often (as in more than 50% of the time) when the Huskers played Zach Potter and Ty Steinkuhler at ends.

The studs from the 2010 draft class will be: DT Ndamukong Suh, S Eric Berry, RB C.J. Spiller, RB Jahvid Best, WR Arrelious Benn, WR Golden Tate, WR Mardy Gilyard, OT Charles Brown, CB Kyle Wilson and S Chad Jones

I don't know enough to say if he can or can't

But from what i’ve heard here at the AP, he’s more of a DE in a 3-4 “D” IMO if we draft SUH (which i doubt) we would then be trading Dorsey for picks.
