Another one of the developments we tracked over the weekend was the movement of Kansas City Chiefs unrestricted free agent Wade Smith.
Smith, who filled in at just about every spot on the Chiefs offensive line last year, started the weekend with a visit to the Buffalo Bills.
Reports were surfacing that it seemed a deal might be happening there because he was scheduled to meet with the media following the visit. However, talks with the Bills brass ran a little long and Smith had to hop on a flight to his next visit in Houston.
Last night he had dinner with Texans coach Gary Kubiak, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
Smith is visiting the complex today.
It's unclear if the Chiefs have made any attempt to re-sign him. From my perspective, Smith was a valuable piece of the Chiefs offensive line because of his versatility as a reserve.
Smith would be the second offensive lineman the Chiefs have lost. G/C Andy Alleman was not offered a tender and signed with the Indianapolis Colts over the weekend.
