PrintYes, it is that time of year again.
In one week, on March 15th, we will begin the third annual Arrowhead Pride community mock draft. We'll go two full rounds at two picks per week day, which should take us all the way up until draft week in late April. In the past, the community mock draft has gone extremely smoothly, with 99% of the participants getting their picks in on time. Let's make sure that happens again this time around.
Here's how it is going to go down:
- Tomorrow at noon central time I will post a thread calling for people to claim what teams they want to pick for. Some of the spots will already be taken by a few regulars but most will be available. If you've participated the last two years with the SAME team, email us today and we will reserve that spot for you. We want new people participating but we also don't want to shut out any regulars who have been contributing for a long time.
- As each new pick comes in starting next week, as soon as we get it, we'll notify the next pick so they can get their selection in ASAP.
- We're looking for a paragraph or more on why you made the pick you did. Do a good job! You'll be rewarded with good conversation.
- Again, timing is extremely important. Get your pick in to us as soon as you can.
Use this thread to ask questions and to talk about any improvements or ideas you have for the mock draft. I'm open to all of them.
Remember, if you want to participate in this community mock draft, be around here at noon central time tomorrow to claim your team.

When will we know what teams are off the market, the teams that the regulars use every year?
Also how long do we get to write our piece after the last guy drafts? Because we don’t wanna draft the same guy….you know.

Seriously though, there’s gotta be some way to clean up the Mock Draft because the last two years it’s taken over the front page. You guys can play all the dragons & dungeons you want just don’t let it get in the way of my Chiefs news, damnit. I’d much rather hear about what team Wade Smith will never start for and what left-handed QB we just signed than read about some prospect mocked in the 2nd round that ends up undrafted. Not trying to piss on y’alls ‘board game’ just pointing out it gets a lil’ freaky.

Suggestion.
If there is 3 picks a day, could we all email our picks to Joel or Chris ahead of time to make sure there is no double ups?
If we have to wait for approximately 2-3 hours before they are posted it doesn’t give us much time to redo our picks if the team ahead of us already picked him.

We wanna have enough time to research and write a respectable draft.
Could we possibly take the guys in the 1st round and do a mass email that everyone says who they want earlier than a day before…or on a fanpost that we delete after we make our choices.

I have 3 restaurants. That’s what I do for a living.
Between 11-2pm I cannot possibly get a break. I don’t even get time to pee between 11 and 2.
Same problem I have with posts — I can only post after 3-6 Pm on days im at teh locations..or (most often) after 11pm when I read the site for the day.
If there are any teams left….I’d love to get in on this. I’d like to think that I have been a solid enough contributor on AP that everyone knows i’ll take it serious, but I understand that rules are rules and we’re just trying to make it fair for everyone to get a chance. No hard feeling either way.
