Chiefs Give Mike Vrabel $3 Million For One Year
Who says 34 year old linebackers aren't valuable in the NFL?
The Kansas City Chiefs gave Mike Vrabel a contract totaling $3.025 million, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.
The contract includes a $1.6 million base salary and a $1.425 million roster bonus.
Vrabel had a $2.2 million base salary in 2009.
This is a good deal for the Chiefs. Vrabel's leadership and locker room presence is invaluable for a young team like the Chiefs.
Vrabel was obviously one of the Chiefs priorities heading into free agency. He was the only player set to be an unrestricted free agent that the Chiefs re-signed before the start of free agency.

that was just Devard Darlings left over cash
Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....
What would would b "invaluable" is getting someone in there who could was still
…capable of actually playing the position well. Maybe it’s Studabaker maybe it’s Koa Misi…
I like keeping Vrabel
If we are gonna keep a 45yr old LB I am glad it’s him.

It is a good move
And I can see studebaker starting by the end of the season. Should be a good transition.

Sooooo
we can afford to give a less-productive player 3 mil for a year, but we can’t sign others over 4-year deals at 3 mil each or something to that nature. I seriously question Pioli’s moves. I don’t mind keeping Vrabel around another season, but seriously, this is not a good move for the 2-3 year plan, now is it? Is this part of the “process” we keep hearing about, because to me, it sounds like contradiction…
Things to get the Chiefs back on the winning side of football:
1. Haley resign as offensive coordinator or do the following;
a. Feed JC more
b. Take the cuffs off of Cassel and let him air it out
2. Fire Clancy "Calls" Playslikeass
