Derrick Johnson
An interesting note regarding the start of free agency yesterday is that there was no sound, no smoke, or anything surrounding Derrick Johnson. At least nothing apparent. Now, I guess it depends on your take on DJ as to what that might mean. Some people think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread and he's just on the bench because we have a dumb coach. There are others who think that DJ is never going to live up to the expectations and hype that came with him since his draft. I am one of those that tend to think he still doesn't get what Haley is trying to instill and I wish that we could get a draft pick or something for him in trade. So what do you guys think about this? Is it simply too early in FA? Or is the lack of interest indicative of DJ's value? To me, I'm a little worried that the other teams are going to confirm my worries by not offering any trades for him.

There could be quite a bit going on....
Look at all the news we’ve received…it’s not coming from any KC area sources (as far as I can tell). The Chiefs are being hush-hush about everything.
Could be getting offers (and we probably are) and we just don’t know about it.
No one is trading a No. 1 for DJ but him getting the first round tender and not the first and third could suggest he’s available.
agree on the info lockdown out at AH
It’s the agents and the other teams whispering and I thought we’d have heard some of that.
You sometimes learn something everyday.

there could be...
yup. If the Chiefs want to mave him, they need to quietly let the word out that compensation would only be a 2nd round pick. I’d think they see some action then.
